I'd say definitely girls. Quite often when I go out to eat with friends, guys usually finish their meals while girls often throw out half of their food. Seriously girls, WTF, why do you have to be so wasteful?

For anyone who's going to wine about me being "judgmental" or claim "it's not my business" we're already depleting the groundwater used for agriculture while excessive use of fertilizer has caused a dead zone in the gulf of Mexico. On top of that buying food that you then throw away is needlessly inflating the price of food making it more difficult for poor people to buy. I'm sorry but your actions affect others.

Ever since I was a li'l girl, parents in party would always yell to us "Girls, finish your food!" The boys didn't need to get told. Fast forward to adulthood and you'll hear women too concerned about the presentation of the dish they ordered in a restaurant, the smell, the temperature, lack of taste, too much flavor, too much calories, too much carbs, they're so fat, they feel so guilty, heartburn, yada, yada, yada! They sicken me! As for me, I love food & will enjoy my meal to the last bite or sip and then live with the consequences later on! Yes, I'm a pig! That's why guys love me! Nothing wasted! :)
I used to be able to eat everything on my plate. But after being diagnosed with TMJ (a jaw problem that makes your jaw lock or "cramp up" after chewing too much or eating hard food etc) I can't finish my food that well, depending on what I'm eating. Add on to the fact that I'm a picky eater, my partner would usually finish them off for me. Also, although we're Asian and our food servings are considered small compared to the western countries, most are big considering my size.
I'm inclined to say women waste food more, but mostly because guys tend to be more pragmatic and know exactly how much they intend to eat, versus women are more prone to overthinking the situation they're in or spontaneously losing their appetite. Additionally a lot of guys will force themselves to clean their plate so as to not be rude.

That's a shallow question. Girls need less food, but the portions when you're eating out are usually the same. If I cook for myself, I waste less food than my partner. Why would I eat all the food when eating out, if I've had enough and another bite would make me feel heavy and sick? Do you realize that girls are simply smaller than guys?
I don't know but it honestly annoys me when anyone throws out their food. Take it home, put it in the fridge as leftovers, or let someone else finish it off if you haven't touched it yet. It bothers me when I cook for someone too and they end up throwing some away. If you know you're not a big eater, why take so much?
I was raised in a family where we believe throwing out food is wasteful, so it feels like bad manners to me when someone else does that
Lol not me!! I can eat and eat and eat some more and just never gain weight. I love food and my fast metabolism helps that a lot lol
But seriously, I was raised to never ever waste food. If I can’t finish a meal, I’ll take it to go. I cringe when I see the little kids today being catered to and being told they don’t have to eat their food if they don’t want to. As a child, I did not have that option. It was “you will eat what I give you and you will eat it all”
Not everyone has the metabolism to eat endlessly and still be able to make a half-naked profile pic like you Ms. Besides, the kids these days get better grades than any before them. Crime rates are declining and life expectancy has never been higher. The modern way is the best.
Depends how and when you were brought up, when there's plenty of money floating around people tend to be wasteful but if you've been brought up when money was tight you tend to make the most of whatever food you buy so there's rarely any such this as leftovers and if there is its usually used as the basis of the main meal the following day. Those that have lived through lean times tend to be less wasteful of food be they male or female.
That is not true my sisters and I do not waste food, we grew up in a very difficult financial situation. So we do understand the importance of not throwing the food away. I try so hard to cook daily, so when I do not like my cooking I won't waste it the next day. When I go out I always take the leftovers with me. My sisters do the same.
I don't know, but contrary to what your mommy may have told you, cleaning your plate does not make the world a better place. All those poor children starving in Africa are going to continue to starve regardless of whether you eat it all or not. We should be more worried about increasing food production and reducing inefficient agricultural techniques like "Organic Agriculture."
Regarding your update, again the poor people of the world could not afford food either way. If people bought less in America less would be produced, because there is no way to make up the cost by selling it in say Africa. The only way to reduce world hunger is to make agriculture more efficient and thus cheaper. We need more GMO's, agricultural robots, and preservatives.
I cook every night and almost every night she doesn't finish puts it in the fridge with the whole " I'll eat the rest later " crap and I see it in my fridge for more then 3 days and I'm urked!!! I told her I'm not gonna make dinner every night if she keeps wasting the food. She knows I dont approve of food wasting
Women by far. I'm the type that cleans every plate at restaurants. EVERY girl I've been with expect ONE leaves bits and pieces of food on their plates. It really depends more on your culture. My mom and grandmothers never left a grain of food on their plates and if food absolutely had to be thrown out ( which was rare) they'd feed it to dogs.
I said guys. I think most girls are trying so hard not to eat that much, so they generally order smaller items, but they are still hungry so not only do they finish their food, they want ours as well XD
I am guilty of a fair bit of food waste tbh. After working in restaurants for 7+ years you become numb to throwing out food

Some people don’t do that because they don’t want the food to get soggy, you do know it’s not the norm for everyone to take food home? If you have such a problem with woman physically not being able to eat as much as you and them throwing the food out than next time ask her for the rest of the food so it’s not a waste in your eyes.

Not everyone is doing that though that’s the actual truth I personally do because I was taught to and I don’t mind the taste of food but believe it or not there’s just people who genuinely think it’s gross after and yes i know that’s pretty fucked because we should take into consideration other people don’t get to eat but not everyone thinks of sees it like that :/ just take the food next time I’m 💯 sure if she was going to throw it away she won’t mind but seriously if you don’t want food wasted just take it or also ask around to see if the restraunt gives the leftovers to the homeless because some places do that

I drive an suv and I probably drive 30k miles a year, most of it for discretionary purposes
I sometimes keep the window open in my room even when the heater is running because I like the feel of the cool breeze on my skin.
I have an immaculate lawn. Shit is like carpet can walk barefoot all day long and sleep on that stuff. The herbicide and water used are ya know beneficial in their own way.
My house is bigger than what I really need but I keep it comfy with the central heat and air powered by the plant
Fish s my favorite food, I can grill a mean salmon flown in from the coast every Tuesday. Charcoal grilled is the best. Beef is probably my go to though. Nothing better than some Brazilian beef from Costco.
I shower and bathe once each every day. Not really needed but I live for that jacuzzi tub, like a massage. Now that I think about it imagine all the energy and transport and operating resource for that tub in comparison to just the basic necessity stand up shower. For a second there I felt a twinge of guilt.
If only everyone looked at the entirety of their actions and just limited things to the basic necessities and eliminated all that waste. Oh well such is life

It’s all cool. I buy carbon offsets in what I calculate the difference to be between my carbon footprint and Bernie Sanders carbon footprint. Turns out the carbon offset people owe me about $30k. I’m thinking about buying an f250 to haul a new boat around on vacation so I can help close in on Bernie’s advantage.

Well if he passes a "green new deal", you'll also have to factor the decrease in carbon dioxide emissions that result from that into his net emissions so good luck with that. There are other ways to compensate for your footprint besides buying credits (even if you make money off them vs getting paid for them).
I mean if someone invents an electric car that is as good as a gas powered one and the decrease in CO2 emissions that results from that gets factored into their footprint. They don't get all the credit and share with the people who bought said car but they get some.

Except he isn't "making" people drop their emissions below a certain level; they could still have a carbon footprint as big as his but neither would be exempt from the carbon tax on it so everyone gets held to the same standards. And that's probably a better way to gain support than flat out calling climate change a hoax.

My 9 yr old niece has a better grasp of how shit gets paid for than our government. In order to pay for the stuff these people want we’re going to have to have continued 3% growth for the next ten years plus we’re going to have to get rid of any two of the military , social security or Medicare. And even then we’ll still accumulate debt. It can’t be taken seriously and it shouldn’t. It’s a discredit to the environment

But did those calculations take into account revenue it could generate or how it could offset the monetary costs of climate change? Now I wouldn't hold it against your niece being as young as she is for not understanding this but I've noticed that quite often people only focus on the cost of something while not looking at the benefits and there's a term for leaving out bits of information to try to portray something in a given way.
I'd suggest fossil hunting although I study paleontology for my dissertation so I'm a bit biased in that regard.
Well, it would kind of hard for them to implement a policy like that given the range of their jurisdiction (unless you think global conquest should be on their party platform but I think that would do more harm than good for the environment). Although I think Bernie would support international agreements where countries pay an amount to combat climate change relative to how much they emit.

You can still refrain from criticizing women for trying to cope in a world where everything is designed for men by default to the point where it’s perfectly acceptable for men to criticize them for making their own decisions regarding what they do with their own food.
It's their food but it comes from the farmland that we all depend on and growing as much food as we do requires so much fertilizer that we have a dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico. On top of that, people buying more food increases the demand for it, inflating the price making it harder for impoverished people to buy it.
I agree with everything you’re saying and humans will probably go extinct because of soil depletion but it’s not right to put the onus of the issue on “women”. Omg they’re so dumb and annoying. They waste food. Leftover food doesn’t taste as good and men can typically finish the portion because it’s made for them basically.
