Poll- Can you eat expired eggs?

I have e eggs that expired January 3,2023, today is the 10th.

you can eat them if they don't smell bad, and they should be fine for a while after their "sell by" date. that's just a precaution that is somewhat overly cautious to make sure not to get people sick.

I have eaten a lot of things past the sell by date, sometimes even weeks or a month or more later.

I actually have a few packs of beef jerky that expired months ago that I have been eating and plan to continue to eat. the thing about food that makes it go bad is bacteria. Bacteria do better if they have oxygen, and this jerky is vacuum sealed so pretty safe until I open it. Eggs are also a bit like this although the shell is kind of porous, it is a good barrier and eggs last a long time usually.

Sure can, chances are they're still good. As long as they've been refrigerated the whole time. I wouldn't wait much longer. If you're not going to eat them all hard boiled them. They'll keep much longer that way

I've eaten eggs that were six months out, lol... when you crack them open, you can tell if they are bad or not. If they are bad, don't eat them.

I do not recommend mixing them together, cause one might be bad, one might not. Usually they don't say expired, it is best use by date, they don't auto go bad. They aren't all harvested (potentially) at the exact same time either.

I've eaten eats right from the hen at home on the farm.

In Asia people buy rotten eggs of all kinds. It's considered a delicacy. You can even buy them in America if you go to an Asian market. And in Asia, they don't refrigerate eggs in the store. That's more of a Western thing.

Fill a bowl or pot with water.

Place the eggs in the water one at a time to check them.

If they sink and remain at the bottom, they are still good.

If they float, decomposition has begun and the egg is floating from the gases trapped inside the shell.

Expired? Are you sure they’re expired? And not “best by”? Things don’t expire anymore because people were wasting food. Like milk it’s best by a certain date but it takes a long time to expire. Sounds safe to me to use them. If it was a month I’d be worried.

Id throw them out never play with expired eggs unless you wanna get salmonella  It happened to me and it isn't fun lol

I would use them just the way they are. Providing that they were in a cool place.  Eggs 🥚 straight from the chicken will last for months. Providing that they were not washed.
