This began with SO much potential! As a po’ kid who couldn’t even afford the ‘o’ and the ‘r’….. (hold for laughter)….
I’ve toasted many sammiches to make them seem fancy! I’ve grilled most of them for an even fancier result! No joke.
I have, to my delight, never had to put toasted bread in between slices of untoasted bread for sustenance or endorphins. Please allow me a few moments to check my privilege.

I've had the bread toasted with something between the slices (meat or chees, typically) but I've never had the toast between two slices of untoasted bread. Something else for me to try.

I love both sandwiches and toast but I don’t eat it cause I think the toast is a possible fire hazard and I view untoasted bread as too grainy and drippy. I get yelled at anytime I fail to keep a home that is cleaner than a hospital germ sanctuary.
