As for me, I stopped drinking years ago as the effects on my meomory and shapness of my mind were notbworth it anymore. I don’t miss it much.

I've had periods of heavy drinking, but recently my doctor has been concerned about my liver, so I'm taking a break for several months at his request.

I used to drink heavier as a poor coping strategy while I had some abusive work and abusive living situation.

Getting to a better, safer, more stable place has helped me lessen my drinking.

I don't think my liver is as bad as my doc thinks. I just made the bad call of getting my bloodwork done after a long weekend of drinking, lmao.

Yeah, it starts out as fatty liver desease. The liver heals quickly if not too damaged. I used to drink to relax quickly at the end of the day. I guess I relaxed a lot, lol. Not anymore though and I feel even better.

Nice! Yeah, I've been noticing mood and cognitive improvements the longer I go without.

I suppose a better way to enjoy my alcohol would be save the money I'd spend, and splurge on rare occasions for a good quality scotch for small doses infrequently, lol.

Yes. Its saves money, health, calories and gives clarity, focus and energy. After 6 to 9 months without, I could seriously feel a difference.

If you want to be sharper than most everyone later un life, don’t drink at all or just a sip every now and then. Its not worth it. Smartest guys I knew in business never drank.

Hardly at all these last few years. I think what changed is that I’ve become less concerned with trying to fit in socially as I’ve gotten older. I maybe drink once or twice a month if that, and it’s almost always beer.

Only when the boyfriend comes down. He's a drinker so I drink with him but I'm not much of a drinker anymore. I used to drink like a sailor though in college.

Yeah, I used to run the bar at my Frat in college. 7 kegs on the downstairs bar, hard drinks on the third floor bar. And a huge trashcan full of grain alcohol punch in the main floor. I was too busy to get hammered during most parties.
