How often do you drink?
What's your favorite drink?
Why?
Would you find it awkward to hang around with a non drinker?
Would you want to pressure them to change?
At any rate, I commend you all for it.
I haven't had an alcoholic drink in so long and don't intend to. I used to drink pretty heavily years ago but it got old. I was tired all the time and was even developing a huge tolerance. I wasted so much money and I wasn't even drinking at bars I was drinking at home.
I get tired when I drink anyway so all drinking really would do for me especially at this point is make me want to go to sleep, then get paranoid that I mighta overslept. Plus if I got a hangover, the entire day was wasted and it would become a chain reaction to other ill feelings like lack of appetite killing my energy and so on.
Was it difficult for you to quit?
Honestly I'd go in and out of enjoying alcohol. After a while I just didn't go back.
I only drink about once a week or so. Occasionally I'll go to a party/go out, and have more than just a couple drinks.
I don't really have a "favorite" drink. When I do drink, I'll usually have a beer or two.
No, not awkward at all to hang around with a "non-drinker." That doesn't bother me in the least. That'd be like saying I'd have a problem hanging around with people who are "non-jean wearers." It's stupid, who cares?
Pressure them to change? No, again, who seriously cares that much?
I never drink. Never interested me at all and it tastes nasty. I got drunken my 21st b-day and I almost had to go to ER because of alcohol poisoning which was 2 years ago. I tried to drink Few Times since then... maybe three times? Got buzzed. Found it pointless and waste of time. I got drunk one time two months ago and it sucked and really made me realize how much I do not enjoy it and waste of ny life it is, so I will not be drinking at all ever again. I can have a blast without the use of alcohol.
That's scary. I'm with you, it never interested me much.
I probably drink more than the average 30 something year old woman. I have always enjoyed booze, too much for my own good, but I love sitting at night and having a drink or two before bed to relax. And I also love going on a bender once in awhile and forgetting my own name that night. My favourite drinks are paralyzers and rum and coke. I have a few friends that don't drink and they are great for DD's. I always have a ride home then.

d000d I don't drink anymore! D: but man did I love my Jameson & Ginger Ale. I would go beach bar hopping with all my friends from like 10 to 2:30am and each one of us would spend around $110-$180 on drinks, after pregame hahaa. good times. :D I wouldn't pressure or anything. and I can still hang with people who drink.
I'm wayyy too cheap for that lol. I could buy so many clothes!!!
@Asker hahaa another good reason I stopped drinking :D I want more money!
Just another chapter in my "Legends of Bert" chapter book. WOW! I can't imagine spending that.
@jackkerouac77, can I get a copy of that book when you're finished. It sounds fascinating.
@Asker
Of course! It'll be on Amazon and in Barnes & Noble some time.
I'll get it with my gag money lol
A 24 oz sipped slowly while doing laundry, cleaning house, cooking dinner, doing dishes, putting away laundry, giving my daughter a bath and playing with her in between former activities, then watching tv and putting my daughter to bed. It's sometimes a daily thing.
I prefer a malt liquor as that's what I grew up with.
I don't care if someone doesn't drink, nor would I pressure. I do it to alleviate myself a little as it's an all day process with one 24 oz. I have bad insomnia and no insurance on myself because I pay for my daughter so a beer every other day or so is fine with me. Mainly it's because I like the taste though.
That's the reason why I exercise at night. I just need to unwind, I totally understand that.
Rarely, much more indulgent in the green (which I treat like alcohol anyways) than anything else.
If I drink it's either beer or a mixed whiskey drink. Lately I've enjoyed bourbon and cherry Coke (with lots of ice) while writing or taking a walk.
Can't even remember the last time I got drunk or more than slightly buzzed. Mostly enjoy the taste and stiffness it brings to my mental state.
One bottle of whiskey might last me a year, so it's a great value.
No problem hanging out with non drinkers or non smokers. But non talkers? That might be problem.
walking and drinking is a fun combination hahaa
@BertMacklinFBI
I know, right? I'm also prone to terrible hangovers, and I've found that moving around while drinking/getting the blood circulating usually has me sober enough/worked out by the time I hit the hay that I avoid an unpleasant morning.
Oh, I could talk your ears off lol
Don't hesitate to PM if you ever want to. Until then, I got my cherry Coke!
Lol. For sure!
I drink about once a month, the time when I usually have money :p
My fave drink is Tom Collins, why, I don't know. I just love the taste, it's delicious.
I have friends that don't drink and i've actually tried to hide it from her/them. They're like, 'we know you drink, don't be shy about it. I don't mind if you drink, it's your buisness.' So no, I don't find it awkward. I gotten they're acceptance, so I guess I wouldn't find it awkward.
And no, I wouldn't pressure anyone to change anything. I have many friends that drink, but also many who don't. I won't pressure anyone into anything :)
Sounds like you have good friends.
they sure are good to me :)
How often do you drink?
About two or three times a month. It's always when I'm entertaining guests over for dinner. I pour myself a glass of wine or three while I prepare dinner, and then pour the remainder of the bottle when I'm having dinner
What's your favorite drink?
White and blush wines. I don't like dry wines (red tend to be drier)
Why?
It tastes good
Would you find it awkward to hang around a with a non drinker?
Not at all.
Would you want to pressure them to change?
Certainly not.
-Mostly on the weekend, occasionally during the week (it's Thursday today and I'm having some wine with dinner)
-Beer (lager/pilsner), vodka, red wine (dry), in about that order. Beer and vodka are practically neck and neck.
-Beer is refreshing and goes well with food like burgers, chicken wings, pizza. Vodka mixes well with almost everything and comes in fun flavours. I find most white wines have a harsh edge so have grown to love reds (used to hate them)
-No, it's their business if they do or not.
-No, unless they were receptive I'd leave them alone. I would happily offer them suggestions and sips if they were curious and didn't drink because they hadn't found something they liked yet. I was there myself, once.
Good. I like that.
I barely drink at all. I only drink when I'm with friends at their place or at a bar or something (and if I have enough money at said bar of course).
I'd say Heineken is my favourite drink so far. I haven't ever really drunken many types of beer, yet alone many types of alcohol, so yeah.
Not at all. And no, I wouldn't pressure them to change. I don't like pressuring people into things (unless it's something else and I'm doing it as a bit of a joke with friends and such but don't mean to be really serious at all).
On average I drink about once a week, usually on the weekend when going out or hanging out with friends. Sometimes it's three times a week, sometimes not at all in three weeks. I take it as it comes and as I feel like or don't feel like.
I've had phases in the past where it was much more frequent, when I was more of a partier. Now I kind of settled a bit.
Favorite drink would be some good beer, but also wine. I also like certain liquors.
I wouldn't find it awkward to hang around with a non-drinker, as long as we're both having a good time.
If they are consistent non-drinkers, I would fully respect that and not even think about trying to make them drink. That's not cool.
I'm sure technically you are in a minority, but I think much less so in the US than you'd be in Europe. Alcohol consumption is nowhere as frequent and prevalent as in most European countries. Here you'd probably feel more like an outsider than in the US.
I know how much you value individuals choices, I completely respect that, thanks.
Oh yeah, lots of people and lots of different age groups as well.
Friebds, relatives, husband lol
*friends
No. I'm very non confrontational.
I understand. I should probably be better about tgat. Luckily it doesn't happen frequently.
*that. I can't type on my phone
I'll keep your words in my mind for just such an occasion. Thanks
i drink a few times a month.
my favorite drink is something fruity lmao like a mikes hard lemonade or something mellow.
it tastes good and its easy to drink. but i also do like whiskey. i like mixed drinks too.
no its not awkward at all. some people drink, some dont.
i would never pressure them.
i haven't tried tons of different alcohols, but I've had quite a few different things.
i like flavored moonshine, whiskey, white wine, beer, fruity drinks like twisted teas, hard lemonades, hard ciders, etc.
Okay that's great. Thanks
you're welcome!
How often do you drink? Maybe once a month. As soon as I get a job I'll probably start drinking heavily Monday to Friday though to help get me through the day.
What's your favorite drink? Vodka mixed with... something that tastes nice.
Why? Gets you shitfaced and vodka is the only drink which doesn't give me a hangover for whatever reason.
Would you find it awkward to hang around with a non drinker? No. That's an odd question.
Would you want to pressure them to change? Only if they had nothing left to live for.
Lol, Monday through Friday to get through the week. I feel your pain!
The awkward thing isn't really an odd question, I've been around lots of people drinking and they always seem to make kind of a big deal about me not drinking.
I'll answer your questions in order
A couple of times a month
I get in the mood for different things. Guinness is always a safe bet for beer. As for not beer.. I'll pretty much pour anything into a glass with hard liquor and call it a day.
Why what?
No.
No.
Why is it your favorite lol?
Awesome thank you.
1. I never drink.
2. I don't have one since I don't drink and I've never tasted any.
3. ^
4. No, as I am one myself. Nobody has ever thought it was awkward to hang with me because of it.
5. Nope. A few people have tried to, but they weren't even close friends to begin with (thankfully).
That's great. I'm glad you have supportive friends!
Completely nonexistant.
It had a pretty negative impact on my social life. Since it's a manly thing to drink beer people always thought I was pretty weird for not liking or caring about alcohol. I had a couple of female friends who really enjoyed partying and drinking beer. But since they knew I didn't drink they felt like I wasn't going to like hanging out with them. So often times I didn't get invited to places or parties just because of this detail.
It's hard sometimes as a girl, I can imagine it would be even harder as a man. Especially if you're really into sporting events.
by the way I see you finally changed your picture for a colorful one. :D
Finally lol, I've only been back for like a week and a half :)
Ahah, well I didn't know that. I'm sort of new around here and I only noticed you a few days ago.
And no I'm not really into sports lol... I'm into E-SPORTS! haha
We'll be sort of new together. E sports ha ha ha :)
- I drink most Friday and Saturday nights (with some thursdays and sundays thrown in the mix)
- I like beer, wine and liquor drinks
- I drink because I like the taste and I like getting a buzz
- I wouldn't find it awkward. I'd love a built in designated driver.
- See last sentence
those anti-oxidants are amazing too :D
I'm a speed demon though.😉
As long as I'm not pulling a DUI, you can drive however you want
I didn't drink at all in the past. But now I kind of do. I usually drink beer.
How often do you drink?
Once a week. I usually order a soda when I hang out with my friends. Even at bars and pubs.
What's your favorite drink?
Mozart black chocolate liqueur and Baileys.
Why?
I just like the taste.
Would you find it awkward to hang around with a non drinker?
Most of my friends drink more than me. But no, surely not.
Would you want to pressure them to change?
No.
Thanks for the input!
Usually every Saturday and Sunday. And during the week if there's a good game on tv to watch and I go to my cousins pad or he comes here. I'll drink just about anything but I prefer liquor because it takes a lot of beer for me to get buzzed. If I'm at a party and someone's there who doesn't drink, its a little awkward, but I'm not gonna try to get them to drink. That would be a dick move
Your the first drinker that's admitted it's awkward... I think you're probably right.
Ya cuz it makes the drinker feel like an alcoholic and the non drinker feel like a stick in the mud lol
Thanks for your honesty
After I turn 21:
Probably every day. (not necessarily to get drunk)
Beer.
It just tastes amazing. And there's so many varieties!
Umm. It would be awkward to hang out with a non drinker if the point of the hangout was to get drunk.
I'd encourage them to have a drink every now and then and loosen up, but not to get drunk drunk.
How old were you when you started?
cough cough 19 cough cough
Lolol. Alright... sure

I've seen alcohol do terrible things to good people and I don't want it in my life. Now I have 0 problems with people that drink and can control it and alcohol seems to be an awesome lubricant for a social life so I'm not all "Well since I don't want it, I don't think other people should have it and we should ban it" like some people on other topics believe. Just control it and it is absolutely fine by me :)
I feel the same way.
Lol... you are a minority. I am a gym freak but love going out. The two don't work that well together especially as I try maintain my... im gonna say it;) sculpted physique. So I don't drink that much. 4 at the most and I am buzzing. I do let my hair down sometimes but like its been only 3 times this year. I also only stick mostly to beers or wine. The mixers are calorie bombs and any spirits thrown in really knocks your body.
I'm a gym freak too!!!
We're not dead yet! Yay!
I only drink at parties, and it's been a while since I last drank, couple of months minimum.
Favorite drink is Four Loko, that shit's amazing. But I also like Cubata, which is Rum & Coke, and Vodka & Sprite (don't know the name though).
If you don't like drinking, then you don't, I respect you for not being pressured by others. Not awkward at all.
No, I wouldn't pressure them, it's their decision and I've got to respect that.
Cool thanks.
