Peruvian ceviche

It sounds similar to Ceviche, the Peruvian cuisine. It's a dish consisting of fish (preferably) or shellfish marinated in citrus (mostly lemon and lime) and seasonings.

I love homemade Ceviche.

I've never tried the dish you described. As a fish fan, I would love to try it.

Yes. Herring fillets with onions, pickles, smoked plums, marinated in vinegar are one of Christmas dishes here. I guess lemon juice doesn't differ much from vinegar on fish.
