How to make oatmeals like in the hotels?

So I had a very creamy oatmeal in the hotel.. it tastes really nice.. How do they make it so creamy?

Old-fashioned rolled oats give you that perfect texture—not too mushy, not too chewy.

Now, here’s the game-changer: cook your oats in milk instead of water. It could be any milk you like—dairy, almond, soy, you name it. It makes the oatmeal creamier.

While cooking, a pinch of salt is your friend. It might sound odd adding salt to oatmeal, but trust me, it enhances the flavor in such a subtle yet amazing way.

Cook your oats on a low simmer and stir them every now and then.

For the toppings, go wild. Fresh fruits, a dollop of yogurt, a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, some nuts for crunch, and maybe a sprinkle of cinnamon or vanilla extract for that warm, comforting flavor. Hotels often offer a variety of toppings, so why dont we?

Grab a nice bowl, arrange your toppings beautifully, and maybe even serve it a hot cup of coffee, just like they do in hotels.

This is not an accurate recipe, modify it as you wish!
This looks like the quick or the instant oatmeal. I would mix both for my desired result.


For example
1- If you have 1 cup of oatmeal
2- Add 3 cups of water (for me with oatmeal I usually double or triple the amount of water needed)
3- Add t-spoon of cinnamon
4- and a t-spoon of salt,
5- and a spoon of vanilla,
6-and enough sugar (just enough to taste with your tastes buds)
7- Slow boil it until thick, stir often but not too much to not let it stick and burn at the bottom of the pot.
8- then add carnation milk/or creamer, then let boil a little more.


I don’t use measurement when cooking, everything is almost instinctual, I use recipe but after the first try, I always modify to my wish!

Maybe if you alter the milk and water ratios or if you mix a little bit of rice into it, it could become creamy like that. It's also possible they use a particular type of milk such as foam milk etc... It's also possible they use gelatine to get that texture. I like to mix bananas with oatmeal and honey when I am looking for a snack that is low calorie at night.

As for oatmeal there are so many different ways to make it & it you like the hotel oatmeal call them up, ask them for a recipe.

Cook long at a low temperature, and cook with cream or butter or both. Same way you make creamy grits.

Slow cooker with automatic stirrer. It's good for oatmeal, rice, beans...

The secret to creamy oatmeal is slow cooking with lots of stirring and to use more liquid than you think. If you look at old recipes many let it simmer for 3 hours but I think 15 mins is long enough. Purists use water but I think milk is better.

Don't make it with instant oatmeal and water. Cook it with milk.

But to make it fully match a hotel quality, you need to buy the ingredients at 5 times their market price :)

They cook it long and slow in a double boiler and use a combination of milk and coffee cream. In a double boiler you don't have to stir as much as vitamin will never scorch

Cook it with milk - and keep cooking it and cooking it adding more milk. Much the same way you make a creamy rice pudding.

They use instant oatmeal packages they even leave it out for you to make it for yourself I’ve done this before
