I like big white bean sort they are called "Pretty John" from the fairy tale that a bean grows high up to heaven and in another world. Those bean sort plants are huge 3-4 m high if they have long enough stick to climb.
This is where I begin to feel a love for my Anglo Saxon friends. We speak the same language AND share the same bean interests. In fact, I wonder if our beans came from over there. That being said, I always keep black eyed peas in the cupboard, lentils (for lentil soup, just though I'd mention it), canned baked beans, kidney beans (for chili also), and black beans (for black bean burgers).
Kidney Beans, Cannellini Beans, and Navy Beans
These beans belong to the species Phaseolus vulgaris, which is commonly called the "common bean." This species is native to the Americas, specifically Central and South America. Indigenous peoples cultivated and spread these beans long before European colonization.
Kidney Beans:
Origin: Native to Central and South America.
Varieties include red kidney beans and white kidney beans (sometimes called cannellini beans).
Cannellini Beans:
A type of kidney bean that is white and often used in Italian cooking.
Brought to Europe by explorers after their introduction from the Americas.
Navy Beans:
Also a variety of common bean, named because they were a staple food for the U. S. Navy in the 19th century.
Origin: Like other common beans, they are native to the Americas.
Black-Eyed Beans (Cowpeas)
Unlike the others, black-eyed beans (Vigna unguiculata) have a different origin:
Origin: Africa.
Black-eyed beans are part of the cowpea family and were domesticated in West Africa thousands of years ago.
They were brought to the Americas during the transatlantic slave trade and became a staple in Southern U. S. cooking (e. g., Hoppin’ John).
I would probably have to save the one I dropped on my shirt last night at dinner
Anaconda just stuck there and froze there of course I would eat it damn wasted good dried Bean I like all beans.
You left out black beans. I love black beans when I make a taco salad bowl.
Red beans (Kidney beans) has been my favorite since I was a kid. Red beans and rice is simple, but delicious. Add some smoked sausage to it and 🤤...
Cannellini beans, with their creamy texture and mild flavor, are a favorite for me. They remind me of the time I enjoyed a rustic Tuscan bean stew in a cozy Italian trattoria. They're extremely versatile, perfect for soups, salads, or a simple sauté with olive oil and rosemary. As for the tinned baked beans, they typically use haricot beans, also known as navy beans. These small, white beans absorb flavors beautifully, making them an ideal choice for baked bean recipes. 🍲

That one just left of centre near the bottom. The one with the orange lipstick and skin problem.
Navy and black beans are my favorite. Incidentally, also the most healthy.
