Do you prefer hard shell or soft shell tacos?

I like both, but I enjoy soft shell. It’s comforting, but if I want to feel a bit full I will finish up with the hard shell tacos. Sometimes you need TO BITE into something, you know? 😂

Especially with the deliciousness of tacos, hard shells will let me know I actually ATE something then, and didn’t just swallow air in 2 seconds. But whenever I’ve eaten tacos with my family, it has just been a big canvas and messy dining experience, so there’s no rules. We will probably have all of the selection at the table. Chips for walking tacos, soft shells, hard shells, and more chips for making taco salads 🥗. There will be sauces and ingredients everywhere as well 😂.

I like hard shell tacos for a specific - and weird - reason: I like to take off pieces of the shell and eat them like nachos. I love the crunch of a hard shell taco, but I also just love to snap off pieces of the shell and just eat the pieces individually. It's weird but I love it.

The hard shells taste better but they are harder to use cause if you hold your hand just a little too hard, the shell collapses and the filing falls out. I prefer double wrapped tacos that are soft on the outside and hard on the inside. But I also like soft tacos in general as I've never had a spill problem with softer ones. I really like Taco Bell but they raised their prices a lot so now I visit Pizza Hut and Burger King instead.

but there is something about a hard shell that can't be beat. i think it's because it's hard to keep a hard shell. that must be why taco bell started reinforcing them with a soft shell? best of both worlds there and i still haven't tried one.

Depends on the item being made. A lot of time, we will just break up the hard ones and toss them atop the filling. Sometimes the soft ones just don't hold up. They both have their good and bad points.

Sometimes it depends on what ingredients I have for the filling, and what form they are already in. Example - sometimes I may only have pre-chopped [minced] veggies on hand. Other times I may have the uncut veggies and can cut to suit the dish. That difference can affect into which wrapper the filling will go most easily. When all is said and done, as long as it isn't more than about 1- 2,000 scoville units of heat, I will usually eat it regardless of form. :- )
