Anonymous(36-45)1 yThere are different types of avocados 🥑 and if you eat them before they’re ripe they’re gross and if you eat them when they’re past their ripe they’re gross
it has to be the right ones when they’re just ripe and they can transform your food from delicious to exquisite! 😋
for me red velvet cake.
I remember when everyone was all crazy over red velvet cake and I was curious as to what it tasted like because everyone was so excited about it.I saw the redness and I was impressed.
I tasted it and thought what’s the commotion about?
perhaps I just had a bad one.
then I tried a different oneand a different one
and a different one
Aomw
tasted better than tigers but over all they were not good. Never understood the hype over that. Nothing special. Really bleh.
3 leches cake over red velvet any day and I’m not even a super fan of 3 leches cake. Just usually tastes better than others.

1 yThis is a pretty weird question, no offense, lol. Most people wouldn't eat something they hate or dislike, pretending or not. And taste in food is basically completely subjective and can't really be measured objectively. I know there are professional food critics out there, which is a different thing, but you can't say a food is objectively overrated.
That being said, I guess my proper answer would be any food that's popular (or at least in some place) but that seems gross to me. Escargot being one of them, as I find snails one of the grossest animals with their slime and all, perhaps even grosser than animals like cockroaches. Also insects in general, in which some cultures eat insects. And sauerkraut isn't disgusting in the same sense, but the smell alone makes me gag. I know a lot of people love sauerkraut, especially with hot dogs, but I literally just can't eat it without throwing up. Kind of a shame too as it's an extremely healthy food.

I agree with you avocado’s are nasty , I tried it once and said Fuck that , never again will I eat that shit , I don’t care what kind of food it’s considered if I don’t like it , my ass isn’t eating it period. Grapefruit is another one that I think is nasty as well amongst a lot of other foods people eat that I say hell no to lol

I would say caviar for sure. I think it had to have started as a trend and everyone pretended to like it before it became popular. Because who really looked at animal eggs and believed they should eat it. At least aquatic animal eggs. Even as tiny as they are. lol

I’m sure it may not have even seemed like eggs. It could’ve been poop of the fish. So who dared to try it. Is there really ANY flavor to it? The flesh of baby fish and the egg material? I think that was highly overrated and many pretended it was good.
I would say that and possibly any bland vegetable or fruit. Like avocado and tomato because one has high water content and the other is very bland. As we live with highly saturated taste palettes, how can anyone taste anything about avocado or tomato. Even celery is worse. Someone said they loved celery and I find the taste either watery or highly potent. Like a grass you would never want to taste. How can anyone truly find such foods rewarding or satisfying? 😂
AI Opinion
Caviar often gets a lot of hype, yet I find it can be overrated. While it is indeed a luxurious delicacy, not everyone appreciates its brininess and texture. I remember trying it for the first time in a lavish restaurant in St. Petersburg, expecting fireworks, but instead, experiencing something subtle and understated. It's one of those foods people might feel pressured to like for its status, rather than taste. 🐟

As for me I’m going to have to say Caviar on this one. I thought about saying pineapple on pizza however I like it so I must be a psychotic lunatic like @ravagesavage talked about in his post below.10 Reply I enjoy guacamole, I can't stand the taste / texture of avocados by themselves. Like the places that just put big fat slices on a sandwich. That's a horrible texture for a sandwich.

1 yI don't think most people "pretend" to like a food. Well, maybe artichokes. It's trendy in some places. I think a lot of people eat them only because it's trendy.
I like avocados myself and buy them if they are on sale. I slice them and put them on sandwiches or burgers. I also like guacamole.
There are foods some people like that I don't. But I don't think they are faking it.

1 yThose foods we've all seen on Instagram as brunch meals in a bowl or on a plate with ingredients that make you think "is that a terrarium?" ☘️ Aka a plant meal @AntisocialCeleb 😋😋😀 lol we all know surely those photos of folks who photograph their food at a outdoor cafe brunch or morning with friend and look 🥣🍜 of weird looking *vomits

1 ySushi. It's bland and only salty with a watery taste if dipped with soy sauce like you're eating salad and rice. I'm not saying I hate sushi. I appreciate it but I think it could be more flavorful. Of course Japanese culture is just so popular like anime which gives it a bandwagon effect.

Maybe try kimbap? It's also known as korean sushi, but it is different. I'm wanting to try kimbap from the mall since there's a place in our food court that sells it. But I've seen they do cooked meats and like eggs & spam. So, it isn't just fish & veggies wrapped in it.

It's kind of the same but with meat.
Avocados totally have a taste if your taste buds are functional.
How would we know that someone is pretending to enjoy something when it's a matter of taste?
I think potato chips and deep fried French fries are overrated. The latter can be prepared in a air fryer with way less calories and there's so many other ways to prepare potatoes.
Also ring donuts are on the lower tier of pastries.

I personally love the filled donuts, blueberry donuts, maple, & the powdered cinnamon sugar ones.
truffles, champagne, kaviar.
I like guacamole but it has to be well made. The last place I lived at, this guy made guacamole and it tasted amazing but a lot of avocado dips don't taste good.

1 yWell avocado makes great guacamole so I don’t think you’re seeing the big picture or experienced enough cuisine in your life to appreciate just how little a little of something can make something mouth watering

Sushi is overrated though... so is caviar. I think some people pretend to enjoy it just to feel apart of something lol

1 yFrench fries are overrated in my opinion. Some can be good, but after 2 or 3 they are boring chunks of oily potato.

It all depends on the fry. I don't like the plain fries either. I like it when we make them at home, from Wendy's, Arby's curly fries, Rally's fries, and Penne Station's fries. Plain fries need to be turned into loaded cheesy fries to make them better.

@PBandJ_Nerd Oh yeah, cheese fries! 😋
I used to like Wendy’s fries, but they changed them.

I tried a stout beer because I thought maybe it'd taste better--but nope! Still too bitter for me. So, that's when I learned to stick to the fruity alcoholic drinks.
Nothing I can think of. If I don't like it, I won't eat it.
