Have you ever tried Caviar? If so what do you think of it? Like it or not? If you have never tried it, is it something you would want to try?

Caviar is a good add to hard boiled eggs with mayonnaise, smoked salmon salads and sandwiches. I find red caviar made of salmon or trout eggs tastes better or at least similar than overpriced black caviar that is often just salty and doesn't has this specific caviar aroma.

Maybe the reason is that Caviar and Parmesan are most scammed foods. Most Sturgeon species don't make good caviar but are over fished or farmed just because their eggs are black.

Only had lumpfish caviar never the proper stuff. I wasn't overly impressed.

If you want to fake it, mix fish stock with agar then drip it into cold oil. It'll set immediately into tiny little balls.

That's one cool suggestion (forgive me to have used an 'americanistic term' here) ... it doesn't matter how cheap things are made as long as they are healthy enough, and taste well enough.

It's nice to have once in a while, but also not something I'd go out and buy. I think it's only for special occasions and in small amounts. At least, I associate it with the special occasions I got to taste it.

It's just some bougie nonsense that "chefs" of fancy restaurants put on food to inflate the pricing and make the food seem more fancy and worth the value you're paying for them. I've never had them, but I have no desire to have them either.

I tried it once, the taste is really subtle so you have to get a good spoonful to really taste it. It’s not bad, a little salty maybe but what else do you expect of fish eggs?

I've had caviar many times! Everybody associates caviar as being the super expensive black stuff (I don't think I've ever had that), but it comes in many forms. Most caviar is served with sushi; the little orange balls sprinkled on top.

You can purchase substitutes like salmon roe at affordable prices. It's not the same but will give you an idea about what you are aiming for.
