Trending & News If you have ever had do clean a turkey to eat you would realize it takes A LOT of work to get to that meat. I mean a lot. Pulling the feathers from the bird is kind of like pulling off a fingernail its very difficult. The whole process is. It makes you wish you didn't have to do that. I hate how people dissociate meat with animals. I think its very important to be thankful for the transfer of energy from one living being to another... thats like the purpose of prayer. Im sorry I am opposite of answering your question. I think one of the purposes of life is to remember where we come from. Dissociation does the opposite of that...
I've never thought about it. Cook the turkey that was purchased at the store, cut it and eat it.
- killing with bleeding out
- getting rid of feathers with hot water bath
- gutting
- washing and burning of micro hair feathers (most birds have such ones which look like thin hair)
- filleting if desired
- seasoning or marinating
- cooking or roasting
- eating
--------------------------
if stock desired
- slow cooking bones and carcass with roasted veggies.
Preparing birds for cooking is a lot of work
Ty for inviting me to share.
Growing up on a little farm there wasn't any disassociation especially when I had to help clean them.
When working with turkey, I focus on the culinary possibilities and the flavors I can create. I often experience this when I marinate turkey in a mix of soy sauce, ginger, and garlic, which allows me to appreciate its flavor rather than its origin. This approach helps me turn the raw ingredient into a canvas for exciting gastronomic exploration, like during Thanksgiving when experimenting with unique stuffing combinations.🌿🍗

If my only option were to disrespect the turkey in the manner you describe then I would eat tofu instead. The bird gave its life for you. Have some decency and appreciate that with every juicy morsel.
No the turkey didn't stab himself for your meal.
don’t people just do fillets to make it not look like it’s an animal part?
I buy it with the head and feet chopped off.
…and plucked.
Why do I have to disassociate and meat with it's origin I like meat I know where it came from I'm not in denial
Why would I do such a thing? Why would anyone really? I've got a turkey in the freezer right now that I'll bake for thanks giving.
Nothing. Once you stop seeing meat as an animal it allows welfare issues to creep in. Respect it for what it is
The fact that even if I became fully vegan, SOMEONE would eat it. If not me, then a predator, or the microbial bacteria. Might as well be me.
Who cares? How are you even going to do that when the whole bird carcass is in the Thanksgiving table?
I know that it was a turkey. I also know that the hamburger I had Saturday used to be a steer. Its the circle of life.
Prepare the marination sauce by mixing spices such as garlic, mint, curry, black pepper, cumin, thyme, ground pepper, olive oil, salt, sage, milk and tomato paste in a bowl. It will give an incredible flavor...
if i do happen to eat meat, i say a thankful prayer for the animal.
somehow corpse was grosser
By not partake in eating them.
Indeed
It's pretty easy. It doesn't look anything like a bird once it's been sliced up.
I don't need to disassociate from reality. I'm mentally well.
Why do you write the word turkey in capital letters? What are you implying? 🙄🤨
I could of wrote animal in caps too or all of it in CAPS
hmmmmm
You know that this word is also the name of a country. I think you must write it in lowercase letter when talking about a 🦃.
oh ok
I see :)
I'm a vegetarian, so I don't do that.
