Schlitz beer will no longer be produced. It has been made for 177 years. Anyone still drink it?

When I was in college in upstate New York the local store sold it for $3.85 a case. It is what most of the kids drank. i have not seen it in years. It was the beer that made Milwaukee famous.

I still bump into Schlitz now and then, mostly in old-school taverns or little corner stores that love classic labels 🍺

It went through a rough patch and basically vanished, but Pabst revived it years later with a “classic 1960s formula” in limited markets. Some nostalgic drinkers still grab it for the memories more than the taste.

Your price story brings back my own cheap-college-beer memories with Genesee and PBR cans stacked in the sink 😄

I just remember their TV commercials from back in the day and the line in their jingle

But I never tried it. I was never that into beer, anyway.
I'm in California and it may have been more popular back east.

I had Schlitz in my youth. Dad had it in the house from time to time. I was surprised to find it several years ago and picked up a six pack. It wasn’t good. A few weeks ago I learned why.

I am not a beer drinker. Haven't had one in at least 10 years, perhaps longer. If I drink, it's Scotch, rum, or tequila. If I was going to drink a beer, it would probably be a Guiness.

I read that they changed the recipe in the 1970s and started putting weird chemicals in it. I hate when brewers do that.

I haven’t drank or seen Shlitz since the 90’s. I remember the Shlitz Blue Bull malt liquor was pretty terrible
