The typical meaning of daddy issues is of girls that is very eager for other men's attention because they didn't get enough from their fathers growing up for various, usually more mondain reasons, like working too much, divorced or seemingly having other priorities.
I'm very sorry for what happened to you, but most people who say "daddy issues" don't mean any of those things, and only mean that she has a liking for older men, under the Freudian theory
I hope that me pointing that out was actually helpful. I see other people who have said much sweeter things and don't have an upvote, so the only conclusion I can come to is I helped you learn something you didn't know... and that makes me feel better.
OMG Sweetheart, that is the most horrible story , I am a father to 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. I have tough my kids respect, and how love should be. How to treat your partner and how to trust.
What he said to you actually made me pissed off. Yes you have scars, but they don't have to all be indelible, seek help. I wish you well and love. My heart breaks for you..
At least you figured out at such a young age that none of this was normal. And don't worry abut missing out on things; you have tons of time left to explore, so don't feel bad or naive.
I read more... U don't want to call the cps now that u don't live there? And thanking them for what, for doing the bare min. since they were forced by law to take care of u? He treated u like u were worthless.
Daddy issues are called that, regardless. Whether one accepts the gravity behind the meaning of it, is another matter and not for you to decide. People joke about a lot of things, even suicide, clearly it isn't funny, but what can you.
I'm so sorry for what happened to you. I've had issues with my dad too, but never to that level. You're really strong and it makes me happy knowing that you're better off now that he can't hurt you anymore.
i have been beaten up countless up countless time , even insulted, yelled at , its kinda normal around here but i dont think peopel were as extreme as your dad
no his wife agreed with it all and my mom didn't know till May (the month before I left) and she didn't want to leave me there but he had full custody so it took some court time till she could get me
Oh, i think i should apologize then. You may not remember but you once blocked me and i didn't mean to hurt you but i thought i was just joking but then after i realized that it was too much. Sorry, i didn't mean to do it. @SweetHomicidalQueen

I'm curious would you carry this view over to saying homosexuals shouldn't adopt children or are you going to be a hypocrite?
Haha I'm actually not straight so.
