I thrive here, it doesn’t hurt.
It’s far beyond sore.
It’s okay, stay away, you’ll find another
who can give you love without the deadly fire.
You stupid, marvelous man.
Your bravery seduces me.
I see you watching me intently, devising a way to help me flee.
I see persistence in your eyes, and love in your heart,
but I can’t give you what you want, and it tears me apart.
I guess you refuse to understand that this inferno is where I belong.
The wind plays my melody
and the fire sings my song.
A harmony that is beautiful to my ears alone.
I extend my arm,
smoky desires weaving through my fingers.
My tears, like snakes down my face, they slowly slither.
I’m in the heat, but utterly frozen,
wishing I could hold you here at this moment,
look into your eyes and feel you perspire
as we’re engulfed in the flames of our passionate desire.
But I can’t.
I don’t want to hurt you.
The thought of a single flame touching your face
will never be worth the love I can give.
Just understand that I want you to live.
While in my heart I’d surrender to love,
in my mind, I know I’m someone you need to be rid of.

- This goes out to every girl who doesn't want to give up. There is always hope as long as you decide to hold onto it.
- This goes out to every guy who's willing to take a risk. Sometimes, she's worth it, sometimes she's just not worth your pain. Be careful. A smart man will be prepared regardless.
