10 Things to Know When Chasing Shy Girls

Disclaimer: this list is probably not 100% true for all shy girls but since I am considered a shy girl, then this is probably true for most.

How to tell:

1-You won't even know if she likes you

•Shy girls can go for years without confessing their love. They simply fear rejection. So they'd rather get their heart broken than try.

2-She can be rude to you even if y'all never talk

• The reasons for this would be because they hate the feeling of having a crush. She gets really annoyed when you constantly show up out of nowhere, which makes them think that they are the ones stalking you!

3-Leaves the room when you enter

• Shy girls can't stand being in the same room with their crush because they're obviously nervous around you. They can't act or think straight. And even if they make one tiny mistake in front of you, they'll think about it for says!

4- You catch them staring at you

•Yes, absolutely. They will look at you from a distance or close up (if you don't notice them there). Even if they aren't smiling and they look a bit angry, they are just mentally admiring how hot you are.

5- Some will make eye contact and some won't!

•There are some shy girls who have no problem looking at their crush. But if they feel as if they are eye-raping you then that would make them ignore your presence. True story, one time I was around my crush and I stared the hell outta him lol. I felt like a creeper so I stopped looking at him.

6- Shy girls will simply ignore you

•Yep. They don't want to get caught so they hide it. And if they think you don't like them back, then they will try to erase you from their life (but they won't forget you).

7- They will tell their friends

•if they like to talk a lot to their friends, then they will tell them about you. Also, they'll give you secret nicknames (well at least I did lol). So you may think she's talking about another guy when really she's actually talking about you.

8- Shy girls have a hard time picking up flirting signals

• If you want to flirt with a shy girl, please make it clear! We shy girls don't even know how to flirt ourselves. Well, we may flirt unknowingly, but won't know if we actually are...unless we actually are. lol Confusing.

9- Shy girls will stalk your social media!

•Honestly, truly! Some might even save or take screenshots of your Facebook and Instagram pics (me lol). They want to know everything about you before they even attempt to talk to you. They will look at your pics for HOURS and daydream about the two of you getting together. How romantic.

10- They will get quiet when you pass by them

•They are afraid that if they say something weird in front of you, that'll be a turn-off. They wwill start overthinking, "OMFG he probably thinks I'm weird now". "Why the hell did I even say that? What's wrong with me?!"

And for the people who say, "if a shy girl likes you then she would try to touch you." False AF!!!

May all be true. But there's nothing you can do about it. If someone is ignoring you and avoiding you then you have to move on. You can't stalk them gambling they are shy AND like you.

Thing is, if you are attracted to a shy girl either one of these: You are ultra strong enough to "chase" , take months of comprehension, or picking up "clues" that can lead to nothing. Or simply have the maturity to take a deep breath and say to yourself that you deserve someone who feels the same excitement of loving you as you do to them and that you can invest time on someone else. This applies for shy guys too :P

I don't have anything against shy girls, I have dated a very shy and insecure girl in the past! It took me months to gain her trust and trying to understand if she liked me too. But the thing is there are easier paths of loving someone.

Hmmmm a lot of these reasons I would not chalk up to shyness--I'd call it immaturity. Everyone gets to where they need to be at their own pace, but if we're calling rudeness "shyness" I can't get behind that. I've been shy with dudes in high school, but never rude. Awk as fuck, sure. But I don't care if you're introverted, extroverted, shy, awkward, whatever. The best way to grow as a person, is to show up for yourself and take charge of life. And that's a practice! It ain't adorable to hide in the corner like an anime character or try to bully him because "he can't know". Shit ain't productive.

You just described me. I could relate to every single quality. Plus, shy girls can have the best sense of humour, they can be poetic or very romantic with their words, they can make the other person feel special. One direction wrote a whole song about how cute shy girls are in "what makes you beautiful." They can be easier to approach and the most loyal. With shy girls, it is definitely love not lust. Shy girls can be confident and confidence doesn't have to be shown all the time. They are very calculative and pay attention to detail. They may remember things that are years old. She can be watching from a corner. They have pure feelings and are innocent.

I'm not shy, but I don't take shy guys by the hand. I hate it when they start following me and stand next to me waiting on me to do all of the initiating first. The problem with shy people in general is they tend to over think and over complicate the whole process for themselves. I would much prefer it if they just attempted a conversation with me first. But they think about asking you out right away and that makes them think negatively and makes them even more reluctant to even try talking to people. Lol. Its like they chase you but can't even talk to you. I can see why guys get fed up of chasing though. If a girl doesn't show any signs of interest at all. Just give up and move on to someone else. Or if you are one of those guys that I've mentioned in my opinion, please at least try talking to the girl your interested in. Don't leave it too late, time is precious. :)

well the reason for asking out even if you are not talking much, is because it can be much easier to talk if you are a lone, plus hanging out doesn't have to involve interrogation. you can do an activity then talk about it or just be silent for a while. asking a person out lets you know if there's any interest. and if not its bet not to waste energy being interested. especially if you are shy it is stressful. and to go through hat when they dont even like you..

I don't know i think to be asked it by a person out shouldn't be a big deal. you give it a try or not. nothing to get annoyed over.

@AriadneSky it still makes absolutely no sense to ask someone out when you know nothing about them. Its much better to establish the facts that you need to know first. You could be chasing someone who's already taken. That would be a waste of time. I initiate conversations with my own crushes and spend a bit of time getting to know a little more about them before I ask them out. When I say "ask them out" I obviously mean on a date. I've had two or three shy guys take non verbal interest in me. So I don't take guys seriously until they can at least talk to me. All they seem to do when they get me alone is stand beside me and thats it. I used to be shy when I was a teenager so I can relate to them in that sense. But it was getting me no where so I decided to start talking to guys who I found attractive. If people lack confidence then its no one else's fault. Plus, if they spend their whole lives expecting to be taken by the hand all the time. Then they'll either be left on the shelf,

just settle for who ever takes pity on them, or expect every man or woman they fall for to take them by the hand every time. That's not learning to improve on confidence. That's encouraging them not to come out of their shells.

Maybe it's the shy girls who make me feel like a creep. Id like to think im creeping them out because especially when I'm at the pool, i just focus on having fun, swimming and that stuff and i always catch this lifeguard looking at me. She also ignores me too and stares from afar. When I walk by her i purposely don't look at her just for her to look directly in my face. I see from looking in the corner of my eye. This post is making me question if she's interested in me now. I doubt it. She's way out of my league. And i don't see girls finding me attractive

some of the stuff listed is really sweet, but who says guys chase or have to chase girls? shy girls need to get over themselves and just be forward about things and ask out the guy she wants. because most of the time those things you listed can also come off as a girl hating guys, and it hurts, and guys hate getting it wrong. plus i dont know why girls would be so scared of rejection because they dont usually get rejected.

Excuse me but how do you explain the connection between being rude and being shy is kinda beyond me. Only pervert stalkers would feel like they are stalking because they know that's what they do. You don't need to feel like a stalker or be rude to someone you have a crush on.

This one girl I was talking to said she was oblivious when men hit on her (which I think was utter bullshit, given her past)... but if I would text her something flirty I would follow it up with "(This is me hitting on you.)" She got a kick out of it... but she was by no means shy.

Like for me, my crush sat next to me one time and I engaged in some conversation with her. I would throw a compliment back at her.

I once hooked up with a shy girl in college and it was weird, she asked for my number and we got lunch together the next day then out of the blue she acted really cold yet told her roommate I was friends with that she liked me but was worried I didn't like her even though I'd text her to hang out.

She was very complicated to deal with so I just moved on.

Majority of it is true. I no longer tell my friends about crushes unless maybe I've actually talked to the guy. I've learned from bad experiences not to.

I always stare like a creep ugh and i think it creeps the guy out. Like dang he's good looking but still i need to control myself. I also say some obscene things that makes them raise an eyebrow. I don't mean to but then I regret it and think to myself "Ugh why did i say or do that, now he definitely thinks I'm a weirdo "
