Girls, You Spend Too Much Time With Makeup...Get A Hobby, Learn A New Skill!

GAG, Made me post a video or pic, and I feel like an air head after hearing more girls go on about makeup, but anyways

Obviously this isn't all girls and women, I just have a friend who is so concerned with it, it drives me crazy. She is good looking for sure, I have seen her without makeup. I'm fat, I'm this or that, I need self tanner, I don't want people to say my looks have changed.

no guy wants to suck all that makeup off you, or find out that you self tan, its bullshit. its probably the reason we die earlier, out of the many reasons.

Why not spend time learning something new, a new skill, hobby, something to keep you busy until you have to go somewhere. have fun rather than feeling like an ugly turd who has to conceal and remove and fool peoples eyes, and measure up.

anyways, that's how I feel about makeup, it consumes too much of your mind, time, and money, and probably kills baby seals when you wash it down the drain lol...but maybe not.

Well technically makeup can be a hobby. That's why makeup artists exist and so many people on instagram or youtube are famous "makeup gurus", because it's a skill they've been practicing and they have a creative aspect that they can offer other people; both beginners or more seasoned makeup users.
I agree that makeup can be an unhealthy obsession for many, when they can't even go outside or see other people without putting makeup on first. Or if wearing makeup in general for them is stressful and deteriorating their self-confidence. These people need help, definitely.
But let's not paint all makeup users with the same brush. There are many different levels of makeup-using and many different reasons for doing it. For many, it's a form of art and self-expression. Something I'd definitely deem a hobby.

Oh please fuck off, my dear. I love makeup and beauty and I'm probably a more productive adult than you are. Are men who are obsessed with video games going out and learning new, more useful skills? I have cousins who barely have decent jobs but sit on their asses drinking, talking about girls, and playing video games. The obsession itself doesn't mean they dont have lives. Plenty of men who love video games are productive and live full lives. The same goes for makeup.

I want to start blogging about fashion and beauty, meanwhile I'm building my career which is intrinsically related to helping people in society and policy work, I'm involved in political organizing, studying for the LSAT, I'm learning my third language, I travel regularly with friends, and I'm always reading - topics in philosophy lately. Please take your simple minded assumptions about who women are because we like makeup somewhere else. I'm getting vibes of latent sexism from you and it's not cute.

I don't feel ugly at all. I appreciate my beauty without makeup and I like myself with it. I'm sorry that this is a difficult concept for you to comprehend. I would agree that the beauty industry profits from women not being comfortable with themselves, and that all women need to learn to be comfortable with their non-made up selves as well. However, I'm not here for extremely basic ideas of who women are and what our lifestyles are because we love makeup. Thats beyond stupid.

Oh wow ya this would be nice... You know, if I didn't have rosacea and Raynaud's causing my skin to look a shitload different from the girls in this. But thanks for showing girls like me once again how nice we could look without makeup if we actually had good skin. Not that I'm obsessive about makeup either, I'm comfortable in my skin and often go out without any, but not everyone is so don't be annoying with this bs.

@lumos ^^ thanks. I just get frustrated sometimes when people say girl's would look better without makeup, but then only give examples of girls with perfect natural skin. Which I don't know why those type of girls even wear concearler then lol. Plus the girls who would ACTUALLY need it, their skin gets too oily too quick and messes it up, which is why I don't use full face often anymore because it looks terrible by the end of the day and no ! makeup really does look better.

I totally get it. Guys are usually clueless when it comes to makeup. Which is why they are so preachy about it, usually the ones who are the most clueless are also the ones with really uninformed opinions. Like how he completely disregarded makeup as a hobby and claimed all girls who use makeup are insecure/obsessed. Just simply not true lol, so no point in even listening to what he has to say.

Makeup is a hobby or even a job for some people. And some of us just feel better with it on, which really isn't anyone else's business. It's really easy to say "don't feel like an ugly turd" when you have literally no idea what it's like to be a woman in our society.
I think many men waste too much time and money on video games, yet I have never and will never tell my boyfriend or any other guy to stop, because it's not my business.

I can see that there's a lot different comments here. My take on this is that everyone can wear as much makeup as they want. I, too, consider that women are more beautiful without excessive makeup.

For example I do my makeup in 5 minutes, so I guess that's relatively okay.

She will always be a complainer and perfectionist. Just stay away from those types. When I go anywhere, I don't care how I look. As long as my hair is brushed and I have clean clothes on, that's all that matters. I've always been that way.

Make up is a hobby and a skill. It does skill to do the type of make up that some of these women do. Just because it isn't a skill that you would have, doesn't mean it isn't one.
