The thing with skin tone and tanning vs. not tanning is a bit of an odd argument to me. Some people tan naturally, whether they want to or not, and everyone's skin pales when they keep away from sunlight enough. I agree that you shouldn't get fake tans, but more for the sake of your health than for attracting others who may appreciate your natural complexion. Otherwise, you should be able to spend as much or as little time in the sun as is good for your health and skin.
So what I got from this take is that we should stop letting the media dictate our looks, because we have you to do that instead? Cool lol

I got another one too. Stop dolling up to appeal to media's standards. Guys aren't all the same, and it's better to find on loving you for who you are.
And guys can/will feel betrayed if you turn out to be a completely different person altogether.
So do practice what you preach, and "be yourself".

What's wrong with dolling up once in a while? The human body is a canvas, among other things. And sometimes it's cute to put makeup, tan, wear contacts, dye your hair, wear heels etc.
I don't really do none of that, but I wouldn't wanna tell another woman she shouldn't. Just cuz I won't doesn't mean other women shouldn't. I don't know a woman's reasons to wear makeup, and I don't have to. Cuz unless she asks for my opinion, it's not my business anyways.
The only thing I'm considering is #5. But no, it's not for men. I can easily get a guy to date me. I'm not being conceited, but I get asked out quite a bit by men and women, despite being the bottom of the barrel. It'd be for me. Especially since apparently every guy thinks implants are the worst thing in the world and would never date a chick with them. But if I do, it's for me. If a guy doesn't accept me like that, then he wasn't worth it anyways then.
The last time I checked, women were in charge of their own bodies, not you. Although, I hear in the east, it's a bit different

There were a few trend setters in hollywood, media, tv outlets etc who promote a new look. Then guess what all the sheep follow.
Look at the skinny jeans they tried to push on men. It failed for the most part, but you still had people buy into them. They wanted all men to start wearing tight jeans just to show how much power they have over controlling people. To bad it dosnt work as well on men as it does with women huh

you do realize that girls don't do this for guys right? we wear contacts in order to SEE clearly - just like guys - and changing the colour up every now and then is fun. It's like changing the colour of one's braces. If a girl wore multi-coloured braces, you wouldn't feel betrayed that she was wearing her "natural" teeth would you? It has nothing to do with attracting a guy. I don't understand why some deluded men out there think a girl does everything in order to appeal to the opposite sex. And thankyou for bringging up contacts. Because I use contacts, my family does, a considrable portion of my friends does, and i have NEVER EVER seen colored contacts in use! And yes, i am ok with wearing em now and then, but always using them with the intention of making people see you with a different eye color than what you really have... it's perfectly fake.
