Guys, would you date a girl with self harm scars?

What is your opinion on girls who self harm? Why so? Would you judge? Would self harming be the reason not to accept her? How would you, in general, behave in their company and if she was your girlfriend?

I've known girls who self harmed and I believe they need love, support, acceptance and understanding without fear of judgement.

I would be a bit trepidatious because of my past experiences, since mental illness is a rollercoaster both for the person who has it and for the people who love and care about them.

You ask how we'd behave? The common description for people who have BPD is 'walking on eggshells' and that is a perfect description during the bad times.

Probably not. Probably hypocritical of me since I've been depressed , suicidal, had low self esteem and done shit I wish I hadn't so I'm far from perfect, but I wouldn't be able to deal with it if she did it again. I don't understand it at all, that would make it worse.

Yaa, I would. She may be having some troubles in life and she's probably a little vexed with the things happening around her, but that's no reason to not date her.

I almost dated a girl like that before.

I would date a girl with self harm scars, yes. However I would do anything I could to try to make her feel better. For example if she stopped self harming before I started dating her I would do anything I could to prevent her from starting again, and the same if she self harms at that time. I would do anything I could to try to get her to stop.

Self harm is a sign of depression. I dont judge. Yes i would date a girl that has self harm scars.

depends if the scars are old, when they aren't then she still has a problem and doesn;t need a boyfriend but some professional help I think.
