Are self harm scars a turn off?

Would a guy be turned off by a girl if she had lots of self inflicted scars on her arm? I wouldn't expect anyone to want to date an active self harmer but what about a recovered one who has a lot of scars left over? Would you care or would you be grossed out?

I actually dated a girl when I was 16 who tried killing herself that way and also said she loved to cut herself because she loved how beautifully dark red the blood was when it oozed out of her. She had lots of thick scars all over her wrists. But she stopped doing it before I met her and I was still amazingly attracted to her. Because she had been through so much I felt like I could talk to her about anything. Don't be insecure about them please.

Its a huge turnoff because mental stability is a MUST for a girlfriend. I don't want to date someone I would have to worry about or be scared for/from.

Might be a little disturbed/alarmed at first... but I think I would get over it pretty quickly. Just as long as he didn't still cut himself - that makes me really uncomfortable..

I would have said no earlier in life but those things usually come back to reer their ugly head again. Drug users start to lie and do drugs, alcoholics hide bottles around their house and in non-alcoholic bottles (spiked the OJ), etc.

i wouldn't necessarily be turned off by the scars themselves but the mentality of someone cutting themselves is a huge turn off.
