Why do you care? Halloween is more about fun now, not about being scary. If being "scary" is your type of fun, cool. If being "provocative" is your type of fun, cool. If being silly is your type of fun, cool.
Do you get mad at guys dressing up like as chickens or goofy costumes? No, I'm willing to bet not. Those "funny" costumes don't get shamed.
Or do you get mad at babies dressing up as cute little bumblebees or ladybugs? They're not scary either. But it's for fun.

And no, I'm not one of them. I used to be a "slut" hater and think like that too, but Halloween is not exclusively to scare you.
I usually make my own costumes or go into the men's sections because I don't really like form fitting clothes much.

There's a lot of slut-shaming going on here. Showing more skin doesn't make someone a slut nor does it mean they want to get laid. There's nothing wrong with feeling good about your body. It's this culture of judging others by their clothes that causes so many problems. A woman can be walking nude down the street and that doesn't mean she's trying to get laid or anything else that has been mentioned here. In the states we get too worked up by nudity and automatically associate it with sex.
And then they whine about "WHY? WHY ARE WE SEEN AS SEXUAL OBJECTS?"... well duuuuh, wasn't that what u were basically asking for in the first damn place? cuz if not, then u must be really dumb for thinking u won't be getting any attention regarding the way u dress lol, some women are just... urghhhhh!
Haha I've never remarked it... maybe because in my part of Belgium Halloween is not so popular except from the few pumpkins that are around :D

It may be because they think it's socially acceptable to explore those options on a day that you "dress up" without feeling judged. Or, maybe they just aren't creative. I don't know, have you tried asking some of them in person yourself?

I always dress creepy/unique. I don't get the slutty thing either and honestly it's way too cold to be slutty where I'm from lol.
Because they are wannabe sluts at heart and Halloween gives them an excuse to live it out and display it in public.
Can you maybe get off your high horse? First off, have you ever actually shopped for a women's Halloween costume? Because they're like 90% revealing or sexualized. So why exactly are you blaming women when this is clearly more of a supply and created demand issue than actual genuine demand. But secondly, in what universe does slutty mean not creative? And why is slutty a bad thing to begin with? Like, get over your silly "my beliefs are better than yours" morals, for the sake of us all.

Because they aren't creative, and from what I have noticed, not very bright either. They are usually "party girl" types who just want to get wasted and hookup. And of course any criticism of them "why are you viewing me as a sex object" "why are you shaming me". The real question is why are you trying to shame me for expressing my opinion?

Halloween is one of those nights where you're supposed to have amnesty from being judged. Anyone can dress up as anything that night, and it's not considered offensive in that situation. Sometimes you get cash prizes for certain costumes.

A lot of it has to do with the fact that it's super hard to NOT find a costume that screams sex as a woman. Yes I like it but seriously it's going overboard.
