What does it mean when a guy says he's not a chaser?

I'm currently seeing a guy who tells Me he's not a chaser.

He tells Me to text him anytime. If we can plans I always have to be The one to finalize them. He Is 24 years old and he keeps telling Me he's not a chaser, I must text him, what's this mean?

It's his way of telling you..

"I'm sorry in advance, but if you were planning on acting out that article you read on Cosmo or "The Rules: Capturing the Heart of Mr. Right!" on playing hard-to-get with me, just letting you know the distance you create between us, isn't going to be closed by me."

Why?

"he's a player!" - Interesting guess, but a meaningless one. I have no idea how you go from "it's raining outside" to, "my cat has cancer".

"he doesn't like me" - No. He does. But maybe (rather, highly likely) he's been interested in the wrong type of girl (or girls) in the past. And he's wasted a lot of time & money, put himself in a vulnerable position emotionally, only to be disrespected & hurt.

I think what he's trying to communicate to you is:

- Guys don't play hard-to-get. Girls are infamous for it. So much so, that it's almost standard. There's no girl walking around proclaiming "I'm easy!" It seems like every girl you'd ask would say the same routine script "I'm not easy, I'm difficult, I'm a hard-to-get, I'm worth it". So apparently, every single girl on the face of the planet is.

So let's do this. If I like you, it'll show. More importantly, I'll tell you clearly & directly. So rather than put myself in a vulnerable position only to get cryptic or mixed information from you. Why don't you call and text if you're interested, and that'll show me that you are, and when I do feel re-assured enough about your interest in me, and that you're not just testing the field or using me, I'll let you know quite clearly & directly about my interest in you. (hint: which is already there, or else he wouldn't be telling you this)

It means he's a girl. Like it or not the game is set up for the guy to do everything: ask a girl out, make the first move, initiate every text/ phone call, its just the way it is.
