SHY GUYS: HELP ME. I'm an extrovert girl about to go in a relationship with a shy guy.

He is very introverted. I'm extroverted.

His relationship history is pretty much non-existent.

I've dated a lot of 'alpha' or 'macho' men - and have many extroverted men interested in me, but I know I don't want them. I want the shy guy that I have been secretly falling for.

I'm falling for him. Completely. For the first time.

Just typing this makes me so scared that my eyes are welling up a lil. I don't know why but I want to be his.

I took advice from my friend and took the leap. He is so understanding. I've been going through a lot and he as stayed by me. I told him out right how I felt about him - That he is the wish I made as a 5 year old girl. I told him how I felt and he isn't scared. I'm falling for him so much that it hurts. Do you fall just as fast?

I'm so scared of losing him. I want to give him all my love, my heart and my soul.

You have an advantage in this because the shy type is more likely to do all that they can to keep a good relationship going. If you feel that strongly about him you should try to explain it to him. I am very shy, I actually am shy to the point that if I do not take anti-depressants I will literally freeze up and not be able to move if someone tries to meet me. It is hard to be like that, but because of how shy I am I have become very empathetic. I think that most shy people are so you should have a good friend in him forever if things do not work out for you. The best way to deal with someone like him is to lead him along the path. He will more than likely be glad to follow you any where you want to go emotionally. If he is like me than every once in a while (every 3-4 years for me) he may have an emotional break down of sorts. It is not a bad thing though what it is is a release of bottled up emotions, but I have never been in a relationship where it got far enough to talk about feelings so I do not know if would happen while I was in a relationship. I think that if you and he are happy in your relationship then you should be happy for each other, do not let little fights ruin what you have. Many people never find someone that they truly love. Because you are so shy, do you every tell your friends about your feelings and stuff? I mean to a friend you are not dating but is a girl? A friend of mine (that I like) is very bottled up and I think he is shy but definitely extremely reserved. Is it normal to keep everything inside and tell absolutely no one?

I do have female friends that I talk to about how I feel. I just don't tell any one because that is how I have been brought up. My father is like that and that is just how I learned how to be.

You should not be scared of losing him. A true shy guy will do everything he can to keep you happy. If he ever does leave you, it would require a massive change in "M.O".

If you normally fall for "alpha males" do NOT treat him like one. I would suggest if you have any issues, let him lead.

Take it from a very outgoing gal that dated a very shy guy for 8 years... the shy ones are not always as nice as they are made out to be! He was very sweet but very selfish! In the end I got bored with staying home every night with him, his best friend & their video games. I have now met a very sweet very outgoing guy who just might be perfect for me.

I have to agree & disagree though that you cannot treat him like a "macho/alpha male" the shy guy I was with seemed to be a very shy yet very alpha male it was very strange... it all depends on his personality and what he is comfortable with. A lot of guys like an alpha woman! Don't be scared to lose him! Again comparing my experience, he was very loyal, and will love you very much.

It can work! I would never give back those 8 years for anything! I love him very much still. If you have strong feelings for this guy, as it seems you do, give it a chance & don't hold back your feelings. We could have stayed together forever but we got together at 16 and just eventually grew apart because I wanted to go out & have fun & he didn't. So if you think this is what you want that go for it & be happy... life is too short to not just do what you want. On the same note if eventually you get bored, again do what you really want then as well.

I don't understand why you are scared of losing him. You found a guy that will listen to your cheesy lovey-dovey stuff like "he is the wish I made as a 5 year old girl". Treat him nice, and he should make you happy.
