It is her home and her right. You'll have the same option when you have your own home. I'm not saying her approach was ideal, but you really don't have a say in the matter. You can request a reasonable amount of time to find a new place, but notice I said "reasonable."
It's unfortunate how many parents reinforce dependency on their kids to feed their own need to be needed. Once that need no longer exists, they often have no qualms about just telling them to sink or swim. Life would be so much more fulfilling for all if parents encouraged their kids to think and make decisions from a young age, so they could believe in themselves and stand on their own two feet. That would enable these kids to actually look forward to stepping out and having a life of their own. Parents can prepare kids to be on their own by opening their eyes and giving them varied experiences, or they can overprotect them, so they fear having a life of their own. Sorry she failed in her role as a parent. Hopefully, you can learn from this experience and not pass on dysfunctional patterns.00 Reply

The question is what did you do, or fail to do that made her kick you out? Also what plans did you have to improve your life that were disrupted by her kicking you out?

+1 yOf course. Once a person becomes and adult they are responsible for all aspects of they're lives including housing. Anything more is a blessing but can't be expected. That's would be considered spoiled or self centered.
A notice would be more respectful but they do have the right.00 Reply
+1 yUm, you're 27 years old & she is the one in charge of the house with her name on the paperwork. Yes, she has every right to kick you out.
If you were still a child, it would be a different story, but you're a grown adult & she can do what she wants.00 Reply

From a morale point of view I don't think it is right for a parent to do so unless the child is chronically lazy making no serious attempts to find work or get a better education, or if the child does something really bad.

When you pay the bills you get to talk.
He who has the gold makes the rules.
This is not your house.
I was 15 turning 16 in a week when I was chucked out.. Spent my birthday under a bridge. 😂
I think they've just liberated you to become who you are really meant to be. Don't let this break you but refine you into the best you'll become.03 Reply- +1 y
My father thought Standing up to him for hitting my mother and sisters was too much for him to bare. He always thought I was a burden, he did nothing for me in my life, he even got in the way of my education. The best was when he tried to stab me with a knife infront of his own father (my grampz)
+1 yYeah usually they have the right, however things like paying rent or contracts can reduce risk of this.
personally, over the age of 21 have savings to cover need for emergency renting etc.00 Reply2.3K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Of course she does, and in any case other than being a parasite, just what the hell are you still doing living at home at 27 years of age?

+1 ygoing by your age you should be on your own to begin with. I was on my own at 16. As far as does she have the right? Do you pay rent? Cause if you do she has to serve you an eviction notice. If not then yes she had the right.

+1 yDepends on state law but yeah probably. Were you paying her rent?
My friend has an RPG character named Malwyn.00 Reply2.3K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Most definitely! I don't think it's a very nice thing to do though. I'd be interested to know why she did it. Parents GENERALLY do things for your own good.

+1 yYep. My house, my rules. If you're really 27, get your own place.
Or an even bigger question would be, WTF are you doing at 27 still living at home? Time to make your OWN life.00 Reply Without notice is a dick move, if you didn't do anything bad to deserve it.
Doesn't matter the age you were living there at.01 Reply- 2.7K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic.
u +1 yYou left out a few details, like everything that led up to her kicking you out.
00 Reply I guess it depends on what she felt you did or didn't do.
10 ReplyIf it is her house, yes she has a right to kick anyone and everyone out of it. Without notice is a little extreme but I guess it depends on the circumstances leading up to her decision.

+1 yNope. What are the eviction laws where you live. In the USA, you must be given notice and if you stay, they use the court system to get you out, which can take another couple months.

Depending on the reason... yes she does.
There were no warnings? Just woke up and said you have to go?09 ReplyUnless you have a signed lease stating otherwise.
Yes she did00 ReplyThat’s kind of rude. Is she having financial problems? Did you finish school or have a job that pays?

+1 yI would think she would at least have to give some type of notice, but you need to look at the laws where you live to determine that.
