Why does my friend always call me short?

My best friend always calls me short and comments on my size and “short legs”. She calls me tiny and small all the time and it’s the first thing she says when she sees me. She said “you look even shorter than usual.” We we’re both staring in the mirror and she says “I forgot how short you are.” She also said my new dress would look better on her because she has “longer legs” than me. Why does she always comment on my height? I’m 5’5 so not even that short and it makes me feel insecure

Your average height, at least for an American woman (you used feet and inches).

Tell your friend to knock off the comments about your being short. if she won't do so, then she's not a friend.

You're not that short at all, and tell your friend to STFU. She needs to know how much her words hurt you.
