How should you act around a girl who rejected you?

Two weeks ago I asked a girl if she had feelings for me. She said no, I took her word at face value and I am okay with it. We work at the same place but for different companies so I see her everyday. When she come from her lunch break and see me she directly goes to look at her phone and say nothing. Then when she is leaving she says sometimes is on her phone but look back and always says good night. Other times when she exit she looks back expecting me to meet her eyes as she said goodnight and gives the wave gesture. After the rejection I do follow whatever she does but nothing more and I am okay with that. I am just wondering if she expecting me to do anything else or leave it as the way it is now.

This is what I describe as a girl giving you mixed messages! I've had girls whom I was interested in who gave me mixed messages, and I absolutely HATE it! You never know where you stand. One day they feel one way about you, and the next day it's the other way! My internal hard drive crashes when being fed inconsistent data!
This girl sounds immature to me. She doesn't seem to know what she wants. Or maybe she really doesn't understand what her behavior looks like to you. I would ignore her. Maybe she really regrets saying no. But if so, she should "woman up" and be honest and tell you so.

Yeah it is exactly as you describe it and I cannot understand it as on the same day she ignores you by looking at her phone and then later acknowledging you and looking for a reaction. It is like two different persons.

yup just continue to do what you’re doing, you can still smile and say hi if you want but never make a move unless she starts showing some interest back and you’re ok with it

I don’t think I will make a move again since when I asked her i was pretty sure she was showing interest but I was wrong. After that she still doing the same things as before - the only difference now is that as she heads towards me she does not look into my eyes but instead take out her phone and ignores me , as she heads out she sometimes is looking at her phone but always look back and is not afraid to look into my eyes. The only thing that she says is good night and expect an expression from me but doesn’t try to have a conversation. So, as it stands that is as far I will go

Why not remain friendly? You don’t need to flirt and you also don’t need to be mean afterwards either. She’s not interested and it’s okay

I have no problem being friendly and I respect her decision. I am just find it odd that every time she comes in she ignores you and when leaving she acknowledges you.

Maybe she's just acknowledging you as a co-worker. I wouldn't put too much thought into it. leave it the way it is for now

Unlikely as we are not coworker really. I have been there a couple of years and she was not like that before as in acknowledging me like she is doing right now. Having said that I agree with you one the last part.
