I have a crush on a former teacher, how do I make it go away?

As the question says, I like a former teacher of mine. He was my teacher in 6th grade. He teaches P. E. I no longer go to the school he teaches at, but I still seem to like him for whatever reason. He's obviously quite a bit older than me. For perspective, he's married with kids. I had a "crush" on him in 7th grade and I don't think I ever really got over him. I no longer attend the school he teaches at, but we still talk sometimes, as we had a really good relationship. I just want some tips on how to get over it because it's awkward and kind of inappropriate.
