What does it mean when a girl says “why don’t you talk to me”?

A girl at work asked me why I don’t speak to her. I then told her I just come to work to work, get paid and go home. I later heard her saying to a female colleague “why doesn’t he talk to me it’s okay if he doesn’t like me.” I barely get a chance to speak to anyone as she works in the warehouse and I am a delivery rider. Plus she has never spoken to me until now. Thought it would be obvious that if a girl doesn’t speak to you first it’s fair to assume she doesn’t want to talk.
