Why is it that joy and happiness show a "light in the eye, whereas those that do evil have dark "soulless" eyes?

That is an interesting statement. I have grey eyes. I am also military trained & people have called me intense. Or intimidating.
I make people uneasy when I "stare right through them" usually when I am thinking of something serious or they are acting suspiciously and this attracts my attention.
I mean I have quite literally had people freaking out - the trashy sort that knows they're up to no good - simply by staring at them without saying a damn word.
Years ago, and it still cracks me up, when doing security while in college this douchebag left a horse-track betting area all agitated because I'd simply looked in his general direction. I wasn't even looking at him per se just looking towards him.
yes, the inner emotions I think is what we are seeing, and those "frequencies" seem to come out in light... It's making sense to me now. they are communicating energy wavelengths. Some frequencies shining pure than others (light bulb went off!!!). What are you thinking when this happens... possibly discerning threats and to uphold goodness? maybe you are channeling some inner super hero/avenger. Thus a core value being... truth, right and wrong. something like that... Or do you want something from them? Probably make a good fighter pilot.
@lightbulb27 - that could be so. I was once helping a friend who is a hotel security manager cause he was short staffed. There was a drunk guy in the lobby mouthing off to the other - younger security, etc. I quite simply told the drunk guy to stop, he asked what we were going to do if he didn't & I very bluntly said you'll be tossed out & stared at him. That stare was better than a freaking muzzle cause he shut up and backed down. He knew I wasn't fooling around.
I have black eyes, as black as it gets.
Yet they are pretty sparkly and shiny, because of light reflection.
However, when I am angry they look pretty evil and I’ve had people be scared to look at it when I am angry.
The various suggested characteristics of “psychopath eyes” seem to echo the general belief that people with ASPD have no emotions to show. These descriptions include:dead, flat, or reptilian-like eyesvery dark irises, or eyes that appear blackpupils that don’t dilatean expression, such as a smile, that doesn’t reach the eyesa “soulless” stareThe ‘psychopath stare’Maybe you’ve also heard of the “psychopath stare.”People generally describe this as a prolonged, predatory gaze, or a fixed stare that feels unsettling and uncomfortable.
yes sharks have cold eyes. I'm glad they don't have happy pretty eyes, that be more freaky.
not sure which is scarier, swimming 500yrds off the beach or bidenomics changes coming.
Never noticed that until now. He does appear devoid of a soul.

Well, because the eyes are window to the soul. I guess that's why my irises are VantaBlack.
I don't know, but eyes do tell a lot. There are mischievous twinkles and bright, shining eyes of joy. Some people's eyes are cold like a shark. They are scary when they smile because their eyes don't light up with their smiles.
yes... there's something to light coming out of the mind/heart, a reflection maybe? I guess in essence... we are products of light. Its fascinating to me... for this would happen in the dark I think, it isn't a separate source illuminating but from inside... and it says something about the essence of that persons being.. at that time.
also note that a persons eyes can change with emotions.. I've seen that.
The Bible refers to the devil as the prince of darkness and God as the light that overcomes all darkness. That dichotomy is deeply engrained in Western culture.
You'll see it in well made movies, and in real life if you have a more interesting one then mine
