Why do evil people succeed in life?

I have this neighbor, she does all sorts of bad things. She manipulates people, she gossips all the time, spreads fake news about other neighbors. She is not well educated, she has a low sociocultural level. Sher is not even attractive. However people believes her and worships her in some cases. I really try to have a normal lifestyle I care little about what others think or say but she has affected me with her gossiping. She even gets to have vacations in Europe and she doesn't work hence she has all the time to gossip. How can people like this succeed?

I think much of it, as it relates to Success, is each individual’s interpretation. To me, she sounds shallow but is a survivor. It seems determination, at anyone and everyone’s expense, can make one successful. There’s a saying, “surviving in the Devil’s Playground.” This may be applicable in your situation as you are not willing to do straight-up evil to achieve your ends. She’s heading to a dead end….

What about: Family, Spouse, Career, Graciousness, Kindness, sincere Heart etc. To me, these are steadfast attributes of a successful person. The personality traits are forever as out Value is not found in fading beauty and stuff.
—I do not see a possibility for long-term success in her way of behaving and living. Again, personal definition of Success is very important in these sort of scenarios.
