During covid-19 pandemic and hit to the economy, many women in western base countries had opted to break up their marriage. There was also a higher surge of women going into prostitution during this time.

In contrast, many women in Eastern based countries choose to stay in their marriage which resulted in a reduced divorce rate. Do you think that women choosing to go into sex work during hard times kind of undermines the notion of strong, independent women?

No. Its only a yes if you think less of women who do sex work which I don’t. A jobs a job. I don’t shame people for working at McDonald’s so I wouldn’t shame one for selling her slice online. I also think you have to be strong mentally and have tough skin to do SW. Id say majority of people are still against it and with that comes rape/death threats, addresses and other personal information leaked, constant slut shaming, etc. It has a high chance of destroying relationships with family/friends and making it harder to find a partner that respects you cause of the stigma around it. Yes doing sw is her choice and no one’s forcing her but that still is a lot of shit to handle on your own in the name of money and surviving. It’s not something I’d do cause I probably couldn’t handle that but I respect it.

No, not really, because the key word there is "choose". As long as it remains a free choice, nothing is undermined here. It's not a choice I would make, but I wouldn't criticise anyone else for going down that path.

What undermines respect for women, and the narrative of strong, independent women, is the constant victim mindset and blaming others for their own choices and behaviors. Most women who go into prostitution do so by choice, even though they are motivated by a need for money. Men have those same needs and hardships but most don't have the option to choose prostitution as a means of meeting their financial needs. The fact that women have that option, and they choose it, does not make them victims any more than the men who also experience economic hardship, but women who are prostitutes are still generally viewed as victims of men.

There is no sort of about it. Few if anybody would voluntarily choose to be used by random strangers for money, and not having a choice in the matter is not exactly liberating or empowering. As a libertarian I’ll be the first to say that if it pays its work, but it doesn’t strike me as particularly strong or independent being forced into that by circumstances you can’t control.

Going in to prostitution anytime is wrong, i personally know several women in prostitution, so one day not thinking id get an answer, i ask if she truly wouldn't mind, would she tell me how many men in five years had she been with?, now she is 27 at the time. her answer was 5,000 men 27 years old and been with that many men. another friend in los angeles 32 years old, she charges $400 an hour and does 3 to 5 men a day 5 days a week for 8 years.. myreason for posting was to show how a person can disassociate themseve from that moment, but another thing i s a woman going to tell a man she's just met that she's had sex with 5 thousand,8 thousand or ten thousand men. you can't imagine how many sex acts she's engaged in and how many men at one time. there is no way a man could ever surprise her, she's seen and srewed every cocksize from a to z, every orifice she's got has been like the battery bunny, she goes on an on an on an on.. my rule of thumb is if the woman even being a prostitute carries herself respectfully, i will treat her as a lady. but a gutter mouth, no morals type woman gets no respect from me.

2) some guys she knows offers to take her to the fancy place but one of them says you know instead of me spending X$ we could just order some food and go do whatever.

I don't think so. The strong independent women ideology over all is actually detrimental to women, but women making a choice to do what they want with their bodies is actually exactly what strong and independent means.
