How should I handle this? What is happening?

I’m a few months in at a new job. When I first joined I became close with one woman. Really close. We had a team outing and seeing how close we were made the other women on our team want to be friends with me. They established a group with me and my original friend avoids the group. The other women don’t want her in the group with me either. Now I’m the middleman between them. If the other women see me near the original woman they get upset and try to keep us apart as much as possible. The original woman just stays away from me and it sort of breaks my heart because I loved her.

But see, this here is why you don't get personally "romantically" involved with co workers... Don't mix business and pleasure.. Or on more simple speak: "Don't shit where you eat".
