She rejected me but lingers around me,. why?

A couple of weeks ago, I met this girl, who was giving me signals of attraction, and asked her out.

She told me she wasn't interested and asked if we could be friends and I said I wasn't interested. I wasn't mad about it, I accepted it and moved on.

I noticed a few days ago, we can be in a group setting among mutual friends, she will always linger around me, standing close. On my end, I stopped giving her my attention, and keep my interaction with her short and sweet but when I'm not looking, I can feel her staring at me.

Or if I'm talking to another girl, she will be staring, will stand close enough without saying anything and If I don't pay attention to her, she will proceed to be loud with someone else right in front of me.

I told her in the past I get rid of women who play games, at this point any attempt on her hand is futile because I completely lost any interest in her and stopped paying attention as well.

I was told by a friend of mine that she's intimidated by me, even her friends said so but at this point, my mind is no longer there.

Any reasons why she lingers around me constantly?

Honestly her feelings are probably a bit hurt by the way you’re handling the situation. Before confessing your feelings, I’m sure you two carried on in a way that made you catch feelings, but on her end she was simply seeing you as a friend. So for you to flat out tell her you don’t want her as a friend, then stopped behaving how you used to (and what she’s gotten used to), can come off as you being mean and making her feel awkward being around you. You may not be experiencing this, and that’s great for you. But I’m sure all she wants is to feel normal and comfortable around you, especially since you’re in the same friend group.

I'm cordial with her, not rude at all. She knew from day one I'm not interested in Friendship. we talk here and there but I stopped flirting, teasing. I'm very upfront with what I want, everyone I've come in contact with knows I'm not interested in Friendship because of the emotional nonsense it comes with it and my life has been peaceful ever since.

I’m not saying you’re being rude, I’m saying that you made a 180 with how you treat her, and being on the receiving end of that change can be hurtful and come off as mean. Maybe it doesn’t make sense to you, because as you stated, you were upfront about not wanting to be friends. That doesn’t change how your actions can make someone feel though. Like I said, you two were one way before now you’re cordial at best and that can be hard for a girl when she’s having to deal with you directly more than she’s have to if you didn’t have mutuals. I just don’t think she’s sure how to act and wants things to feel normal again. It’s perfectly fine that you standing firm in your boundaries, I’m just saying you can’t expect her to react the way you think she should.

We both have a choice, she's entitled to choose who she wants and I'm entitled not to accept something I don't want.
Whether her feeling change or not, life goes on and I will pursue someone else.
