there was this girl i knew , she had worked at our local pub as a server for a couple years. mostly during the summer though was when i'd normally see her.
but i'd never see her anywhere else and my town isn't like that big. is other restaurants and big box stores here. and a gym that i went to a lot but i never saw her there either. our town is so small its hard to believe it be possible to not ever see her anywhere else like not even briefly or by accident.
obviously being a girl is places she'd go that i'd never go like a nail salon or hair salon but still is places everyone goes like the grocery store or mcdonalds.
one though i had is maybe she was living somewhere else and driving here for work but even then how far would someone drive to work at a restaurant as a server? is so many restaurants i can't see anyone driving more than 30 minutes maybe 45 if there working at a really well paying spot and have friends there maybe. but even then you'd still think she'd visit other places in town and do some shopping here or have lunch.
i talked to her all the time , i never asked her where she lived specifically , i did mention once i though it was weird that i never saw her anywhere else in town and she just got all weird about that all of a sudden and claimed to not like the other restaurants here and not ever been a member of gym and had few interests. i do know that she had a car , never saw it so not sure what it was but she could of been driving into work from where ever i guess.

i have had similar things happen before but usually were girls i knew less well and didn't really talk to much so of course i 'd not really see much of them anywhere else. but this girl i talked to her there like everyday and knew most of her girlfriend's too who also lived in this area but i never once would see her anywhere else in this area.
the whole thing is weird , had different thoughs on what went on with her , one being she avoided people cause she worked at a high profile place and so didn't want to be seen or she was avoiding me. but she had to live somewhere in that area , is only so far she could drive each day into work to be at that place all summer
it also doesn't make sense cause gas prices were so high this year and literally every restaurant was short staffed so she could of just found a job closer to where she was actually living if she wanted to. although she might of signed a contract at her job and might not of been able to easily leave or been allowed to come back next year if she wanted to. not sure what the penalty would of been for leaving early.
but there is a busy 4 lane highway that runs through town so if you were to leave the restaurant lot and drive through town your on the highway and could in theory go north or south fairly quickly but why travel so far for a restaurant job? there usually just local jobs no one travels very far to work at. i've never heard of anyone travelling far just for a summer server job as there so plentiful here

i'm sorry the whole thing left me very confused.. all i know is she worked there for a couple years , she had deep roots her as she went to high school here and had friends in town. perhaps she wasn't ready to entirely move on but had sort of moved on and living somewhere else nearby maybe? so kept the old job as a way to stay connected to them , i'm not really sure
bu tough to explain why anyone would drive more than 35 minutes each way for a server job these days when gas so much and every restaurant looking for staff for the same job she had there
