Girls, Are we okay?

During a worker's night out a young girl who I like very much, came up next to me and bought me a drink providing I return the favor which I later did. After getting drink for me she asked me if we are okay? The thing is we hardly know one another even though we've worked in same place for nearly 5 years. So I wonder why is she asking me this, to me this is a question one would ask if you had strong relationship with that person before. I would be grateful for your opinions. Thanks.

Well what did you say in response? Sometimes people say, "are we okay?" When they're really asking are YOU okay. Maybe you looked upset or something.

If that's not what she meant and she was actually asking if you two were okay, then maybe she's wondering how you feel about her. You said you guys have worked at the same place for 5 years and still hardly know each other. She possibly would like to change that.

Yes, it would make more sense if you guys had a strong relationship for a long time. Maybe she wanted to know if she could get closer to you or if you trusted her.
