True story that happened waaay back in the past...

Him: "Not interested in me or simply getting committed?"

Me: "Please, don't do this. You're only hurting us both."

Him: "Have I lost you? ... as a friend?"

Me: "I'll always be your friend."

We're still friends today.

I don’t pretend to be taken cause it means a guy I actually like might also think I’m taken. I don’t even have to officially reject a guy, I can simply ignore messages so often the guy knows I don’t want to date. There is no reason to tell him he had 3 heads and smells like a pig. Just say, “can’t make it, sorry.” Do that enough and he will give up.

I've never had that problem (not sure if that's a good or bad thing). But if I ever faced that, no, I'd just tell him, "Sorry, but I'm not interested." It's the truth! Better than lying-

Suppose he finds out you don't have a boyfriend, then what? He's going to know you were lying and you rejected him because you weren't interested. Better to say he's not your type, or you're staying single for now.

Depends... mostly I am upfront and honest but that mostly leads to arguments cause most guys can't accept a no and so saying I have a boyfriend is the easiest way out, even that leads to arguments but at least not that often like with being honest
