Why a girl hides her whatsapp stories (status) from me?

I was told she likes me, I have talked with her in real and she gave me her number, she always smiles when we cross but from I added her number, I can't see her profile picture and I can't see her stories, I'm sure she hides it from me, we aren't serious, just talking and knowing a bit.

You have to earn the right to have that access. You sound a little freaky to me assuming you have Rights to all that is hers. I hope she's not picking up on that. She is Testing you to see how smart, patient, and gentle that you are. Give her a Vision of how Relationship could be in Good planning and actions. Do NOT pressure her for access or come off as a demanding little B- Good luck with it all... sounds like you two are off and running.

Unless she specifically confirms having feelings for you then don’t make that assumption. Seriously a lot of us have had to pay for someone else saying we liked so and so. Ask her about the status too, just mention it like ‘have you stopped really using WhatsApp? It looks like your page is inactive”, or something like that

Thanks for answering. Her close friend told me, this is sure, I believe her, we really haven't texted, just some short messages but she hasn't texted me first. I just wonder why she acts like this

Honestly even that’s not enough. My best friend of 12 years told some guy I was interested just because I was relatively close with him as a friend, this is what I mean. For the girl in question, I’m not saying there’s nothing there, but her actions can be hinting to feelings other than what her friend said. That’s why clarification is important and making sure you are on the same page. Otherwise why keep wasting both of your time if it’ll be dead ended?
