Is it safe to say that 80-90% of people on online dating - or "Facebook dating" is a thing - are interested in hookups & nothing serious?

Pickings are slim in this area - a lot of drug abuse, alcoholism, etc. - hence why online.

I was on one site - Zoosk - and the number of men in the trucking industry was enough to be comical. Too cheap to hire a hooker from a local bar, so hook up with a dimbo along the trip.

It depends.

Good dating prospects are difficult to find in real life as well. Maybe 1 in every 30 people who walk past you on a given day is even remotely what you might like, and even then their personalities might be bad.

I actually think online dating could work if a person is patient and diligent. I've managed to meet some interesting women online before, but you definitely have to talk to a lot of them and eliminate the incompatible ones.
