Am I right in this situation I blocked a girl?

She was texting me and calling at 10 pm, midnight; 3:00 in the morning when the first time I told her I’m sleeping and I have to get up for work. Please don’t text or call unless there is a emergency.

The second time I was not as nice and she got angry but stopped doing it for a while.

The third time I was not in the mood. Her texts are always totally unimportant and nothing that couldn’t have waited until in the morning. I already had a long day and my phone was ringing. I have to keep my ringer on because of work to find out it’s her and she sent 10 messages to me all hours of the night.

I was very angry and told her to put it nicely never to call me unless there is a emergency this late at night ever fucking again I have to get up for work in a few hours and you’re texting me unimportant garbage and I’m done with you and you’re blocked don’t ever contact me again.

She sent me messages on social media next and she’s really been being a bitch. She feels like she’s entitled to my time. I can’t even stand her anymore. She used to be so cool when I first met her.

She finally I think got the hint that I didn’t want to be speaking to her anymore. One of her friends told me that she said a bunch of stuff about me behind my back and I basically threatened to file a defamation suit against her if she keeps it up.

I have boundaries with people and I expect people to have the same. But some people in my friend group told me I’m over reacting which I might have been a bit too angry. That I shouldn’t have blocked her.

But whatever.

It’s easy for friends to say you’re overreacting when they aren’t the ones having their phones blown up all hours of the night. They also are not the ones on the receiving end of her “bitchy attitude”, so of course it’s easy for them to say you overreacted. In my opinion though, you did the right thing and don’t need anyone gaslighting your decision. Especially when they haven’t been in your shoes and it’s totally inconsiderate for them to basically disregard your feelings in this. That woman seriously sounds like she’s got a lot of maturing to do, so that hopefully she can gain the ability to both understand and respect people’s boundaries. Maybe at that point you two can revisit friendship, but not right now.

Thanks. I think they put up with this behavior and if they let people walk all over them. That’s fine. I have boundaries and I do my best to respect others boundaries so long as they are reasonable.

People know not to be texting me when I’m sleeping unless it’s a absolute emergency. Either someone’s in the hospital, someone’s dying, someone’s dead, or something that is urgent and can’t wait until the morning.

Blocking her was fine expecting her to act civil when she has shown she is crazy is silly on your part I would think that's aside saying u will sue ger is a little ridicules just move on

I do all the time if I'm awake and have a thought although I don't expect the person to respond immediately to be fair I tend to text and only call people I know will be awake and a lot of my friends are equally night owls
