Am I selfish for thinking this way?

I like when people visit my home but I don't like to visit other people's homes unless it's a church event cause in my home - I get 100% control over the rules of behaviour expected and I never doubt I'm wanted and desired in that place. But in somebody else's home, you don't know if they want you there. You don't know how long they want you there, and you don't know if they are secretly angry at you for something you did. Also I don't like busing to people's homes in the winter time unless I know they are going to give me a meal and a long social event.

Not selfish per se, maybe just a bit of a control freak. My sister's kind of this way if I go anywhere she ALWAYS has to drive. I don't personally care either way so it works out.

Worrying about whether they want you there? Are they specifically doing anything to make you feel that way? Sometimes we create things that do not exist by a word that was said or not said. I just made that mistake tonight with one of my other sister's luckily it was just in my head.

I try to look at people's CONSISTENT behavior. If they're consistently rude or dismissive then I'll remove myself from the equation.

I think that is how most people feel as they grow older. As one becomes older one becomes comfortable in there own skin and in their own space. Visiting people becomes an effort one makes.

When one is young, their eager spirit for adventure, makes it easier for them to visit people until they get older then they just want to chill at home

I certainly wouldn't say " selfish " , can relate to what you say , I sometimes have similar reasons , sometimes focused on travel , and on leaving time expectation , plus I wonder about food because Im trying to keep to a strict regime..

Yet , I kinda am real happy to host , no matter how late things go , because , there I am , dont have to travel and can drink whatever I like.

I don't think it's "selfish," like others said maybe it is a control issue. Just keep in mind others may not want to come to your house for the same reason you don't want to go to theirs'.
