Girls, do you downplay any attractive qualities an ugly guy might have on purpose?

I'm an unattractive guy but I have been to boot camp, I have trained somewhat in combat sports, a bit of tennis,& powerlifting

Im in very great shape (visible cuts) & I've noticed that almost half of the gals are not only surprised by what I accomplished here & there BUT they choose to downplay everything I've done in favor of guys who never fought, or won in any physical competition

Basically I'm still low key snubbed to guys who aren't "legit" in any sport

Is there any chance they see you getting cocky and are trying to squash that?

That's the only reason I've known girls to really do this (whether the guy was attractive or not).

If they think that YOU think that you're hot-shit, they'll knock you down a few pegs, even if it requires downplaying the reality of your good qualities.

Otherwise, unless there specific shitty people we're talking about... girls don't really do that. They tend to be fairly "fair" in judging guys physically and accomplishment-wise. The aren't likely to exaggerate but neither are they likely to downplay.

I can't think of any reason aside from them thinking you cocky and wanting to keep your head from getting to big. That's the only time I've seen girls do that.

Maybe it's something else. But if this is a widespread reaction among a large number of different girls... that's the only thing that makes any sense to me. Any chance it could be that?
