My friend gets jealous when I get a compliment. What should I do?

My friend is a good friend, but she thinks it's "unfair" when I get a compliment or attention in public and she doesn't. She always says "Why didn't they compliment me?" when someone pays me a compliment. I try to gas her up by complimenting her or saying that we're both equally amazing, but she rolls her eyes or scoffs. The thing is, I'm single and she's taken, so it would make sense if I want the male attention more when we go out.

She says situations are "unfair" between us, but I haven't done anything to make it unfair. What should I do to make this less awkward? She is a good friend otherwise, but I feel uncomfortable because I can't do anything about it. I don't know how to respond.

You really can't. This is her hang-up she's going to have to learn to deal with it.

You could say, "I dress more whore-ish than you so guys notice that".😆 But you'd have to be ok with insulting yourself to make her feel better.

I make this comment because the point I'm making is attention or compliments are not always because of something positive. Which is why you're friends needs to learn, "it's all perception".

Since she's already in a relationship, she shouldn't even be concerned about what attention you're getting and she's not. Maybe she's just jealous that you can attract more than she does. Or, she's like a lot of women who want guys to approach yet put on unpleasant faces and body language when they try to. But again, if she's already taken she shouldn't care.
