My ex girlfriend ties up her puppy in doors is this humane?

So to keep the puppy from barking at the door she has the puppy tied to a piece of furniture I yelled at her saying this is flat out inhumane and normal people don’t do this.

It is difficult to determine if this is an effective strategy without knowing more about the animal's temperament and behavior, the size and layout of the apartment complex, and the amount of time that the animal is left alone tied to furniture. So she has done nothing for this puppy in terms of training and now behavior wise it’s starting to act out

I've put puppies in a cage inside the house. Being tied to furniture seems better in my opinion.

Yeah we had a crate that we used for our husky she refused to use that even though I was like most dogs are crate trained
