So to keep the puppy from barking at the door she has the puppy tied to a piece of furniture I yelled at her saying this is flat out inhumane and normal people don’t do this.
There is a lot of information and context missing from this post. Do you live in an apartment complex where keeping an animal from running at the doors whenever someone enters by tying it up is an efficient method? It is difficult to determine if this is an effective strategy without knowing more about the animal's temperament and behavior, the size and layout of the apartment complex, and the amount of time that the animal is left alone tied to furniture. Is it a 24 thing? Is it just when people come over? Need more context.

I've put puppies in a cage inside the house. Being tied to furniture seems better in my opinion.
So let me see if I understand this: you're asking us if it's inhumane to tie the puppy up but its okay to yell at your girlfriend? I think your priorities are misplaced.
