I’m on a group chat on WhatsApp with my old colleagues, I don’t message much on there much. Everyone doesn’t work with each other anymore. A girl I know who I worked with last year mentioned she was getting married I guess got married she recently.
On her last day at work last year I gave her a gift just to be courteous. Then recently I noticed she invited people at her event but didn’t even bother telling me. I find that kind of rude but it just makes me realize don’t give gifts or money to coworkers. It is what it is I’m not devastated but it just shows the character of people.

Did she invite other people from your job? How long has she known them? Weddings are very expensive and one guest can cost like $500-$1000 or even more depending.
I knew her for like a year, she’s known the other colleagues longer. One girl got hired at the same time as me but they are closer so I get it. But yeah she invited other people from my previous dept. I just think it’s rude that I actually got a colleague a gift on her last day and I’m just reading messages from others saying wedding was nice and etc. Again I’m not super tight with her but I tend to have a little more respect and patience towards others. I was debating about telling her on WhatsApp, hey, congrats on the wedding but it’s not like anyone reached out to me for my birthday this month or my graduation for grad school which was last wk.
Sure. It don't bother me that I don't get invited and am a brush off.
