certain jobs have more male workers and some other jobs have more female workers bc it depends on the type of the job but why do cooking jobs have more males when women are naturally better at it?
In the past women were generally better cooks because men worked outside the home and women didn't, so women were expected to do the cleaning, laundry, shopping, and yes cooking. But that is no longer the case, in fact most younger women, at least here in the US, do not know how to cook well at all. I know far more men my age who are good to excellent cooks than I do women, even though women often cook just as much, just not as well.
This is something that has been on my radar for years since I enjoy and am pretty good at cooking if I do say so, so I naturally connect with like minded people, and there just aren't many of them who are female anymore. I think the last couple of generations of women turned their backs on cooking because they saw it as a demeaning gender role, so they shunned it altogether and didn't pass the knowledge, skills or passions for it to their daughters, who are now young adults with no cooking skills.
But it has always been the case, and still is, that the best professional chefs are usually men. Why? Because it's physically demanding, high pressure, stressful and competive, and most women do not thrive in those conditions. High power chefs need to be effective and somewhat dicatorial leaders, which is outside the confort zone for the vast majority of women.
Because it´s a high pressure job where people have to be brilliant in a short amount of time.
Because cooking by profession is different from cooking as a natural trait. Women tend to pick jobs with less manual labor and cooking as a profession is considered generally hard labor, and the reality is that women being the better cooks is not necessarily always true.
Women are just the forefront of the face of cooking because cooking is a trait of a mother and housewife.

Women are not supposed to better at it, being a professional chef has been done by men for 100s of years, because women didn't work.
All the cooking shows have girl chefs, lol.
