I can’t see any reason why it’d be SAFER for the guy to initiate. I think it’s way better for women to be in control of interactions with stranger, for o think what should I he very obvious reasons. Basically all the stuff you put down is more risky if she is caught off guard, i e ‘the guy initiates.’

Now if you’re meaning to ask is it dangerous to talk to a stranger well totally spends of course.

Anyone arguing it’s safer for the women of the guy initials had nothing to do with safety and just someone holding onto antiquated idea did what is socially “acceptable” safety had zero to do with it.

Depends on the environment. If it’s just you and a random guy alone in a private area, then yes it’s potentially dangerous and I wouldn’t do it. But if you’re in an environment packed with people, go for it! There’s always a risk that it could turn sour, unfortunately that’s just how it is, but if there’s people around - if he tries anything horrible, there’s witnesses and hopefully kind people who will intervene.

You should have the common sense to know if it’s a safe place or not to initiate the conversation. Would you talk to a stranger at 3AM next to a dark alley? Or what if it’s in a grocery store or a gym in the middle of the day? Also women usually have strong intuition to know the “vibe” of the environment and/or the guy.

In reality many women often fear looking “desperate” or some nonsense for just saying hello to a guy they like. They don’t want to out in the effort and risk of being rejected. Even in modern times most women are still like this.

It isn’t “desperate” just to smile and say hello to a man that you like. If he’s interested/available then 9 times out of 10 he will likely take the conversation from there (unless you caught him when he’s in a bad mood or something).

I don't think it puts a girl in any less of a situation than if the guy approaches and asks for her number. It may be better for her to approach and ask for his number so he has no way of contacting her. She can decide after speaking with them if she wants to connect later on.

Alternatively, if she shares her number and he turns out to be a nutcase she's put herself in a bit of a predicament as he now has her number.
