If another girl calls you ugly does she really think you’re ugly or is she just hating?

The I was arguing with an acquaintance the other day and she blurted out “you have a big nose and well you’re not pretty. I think you’re ugly” to me unprovoked trying to insult me. And kept saying “well to me you’re not attractive. I think you’re ugly” but I never mentioned my looks nor ever bragged or talked about them. but I don’t know if she really feels this way or if she’s just being a hater? I wouldn’t call someone ugly if they weren’t so I couldn’t fathom someone doing it to me.

And no I’m not ugly. Never been told I was ugly and have been told time and time again I’m attractive so don’t understand her logic.

It depends. She could be saying that because you really are ugly. A lot of women do each other a disservice by telling their friends, family that they’re not ugly. Mainly the women tell other women that because they don’t want to hurt each others feelings. Even if she is pretty to another girl, the standards at what women perceive as pretty compared to men aren’t usually the same. She could be jealous that yes you actually are pretty so she’s throwing that out at you because she knows that her as well as a majority of women get their feelings hurt when you say things like that to women. It’s like when women say shit to men like you have a small dick, it’s because she knows that’s going to get to him.

Does it really matter? Whatever she says or thinks doesn't change what was already reality, both good and bad.

I once pissed this girl I worked with off and she called me "Pat". She was comparing me to the androgynous character from SNL. Did she really think I looked androgynous? Or was she just angry and trying g to be as vicious as she could? Well no one angry or not has ever remotely said anything like it since. So I just conclude it was her trying to hurt me.

I wouldn't worry about it in other words.

The answer depends on how you look, if you’re rlly pretty then she’s just hating, insulting to insult, if you’re average looking or worse, then she probably does think you’re ugly. Also it honestly doesn’t matter much, it’s pretty common to just toss random insults about to other person while arguing
