She's not interested in me, is she?

So I started talking to this girl yesterday and for the most part we text throughout the day aside from her replying back later. Sometimes she'll say things like "Mhmmm" which make me think that she isn't interested in the conversation. She did say that she thinks we're better off as "buddies" at least for now. She'll send me voice messages talking about something and sometimes she'll ask my opinion on what she should do or get to eat and I think maybe this is her way of testing me to see if I can make my own decisions? She sent me a snap of her cat and her bare legs were in the photo so I decided to compliment her on her cat AND said that I looked at her body too. She didn't reply to that part specifically so I wanted to apologize for saying that, but again she ignored it and simply went on with the conversation. I feel horrible now. Mainly because I'm worried I made her uncomfortable, but also because I think that means she rejected me. So I really want to try and stay friends with her for now, but I don't know how to proceed?

Also, she was texting me right now with a few spelling errors so I asked if she was tired and she said "mhm nigt" and that was it. I'm pretty sure she fell asleep right after that, right?

Let her go, it is clear that she does not see you that way from the start that is why she said she wanted to be buddies first. I promise you that if she met a guy that met her standards she wouldn't want to just be "buddies" with him. I think you are giving her too much attention, it's cool if you talk to her here and there but don't make her a priority, make her wait if needed. If you want to see if she likes you, give her less attention slowly and she will start to notice, if she is not fazed by it then you have your answer, if she points that out then she might slightly like you. But as of now, it looks like she is just getting attention from you and that is what she is looking for. That last part was kind of off and can see what that make it weird but it happened so ignore it and move on and maybe don't make that comment again in the future. Dont worry on the past focus on what you can do now.

I mean she texted me that I never send her selfies so I just sent her one. And I told her that I won’t be able to text her because I was at a Dr. appointment and Snapchat doesn’t work without internet. And she said “that’s fine. I need to focus anyways” which made me feel like I’m bothering her.

Yes, it is possible, girls like it when they are getting attention but too much attention can make them push back. You have to make her feel like she earned the attention. So as mentioned take it slow and give her less attention without telling her and see how she reacts to that.

I'm trying to slowly do that. Like a while ago I asked her if she wanted me to wait to text her until she's off of work and she said "mhm". So I'm thinking of just waiting for her to message me. I should (hopefully) get a text within the next 30 minutes to an hour. So what exactly are somethings I can do to slowly give her less attention? I mean yesterday sometimes she would reply instantly sometimes I'd have to wait a while for her to reply. Should I just follow her lead? Like if she replies quickly then I do the same, but if she replies late do the same as well? Sorry, I know I'm completely oblivious to this sort of thing lol

From the information it is clear that she is not interested. There is also one more possibility, I think she is playing hard to get.
