This happens at somewhere close to the university but still outside the university even though she's not sincere with him.

Hmm that is a bit weird if she's not actually sincere with the guy. A few possibilities I can think of:
- She may feel awkward or uncomfortable if she just ignored him since they have class together. Even if she's not interested, she doesn't want things to be totally weird.
- She could be keeping him on the back burner in case she changes her mind later. By still being kinda friendly, she leaves the door open maybe.
- Peer pressure from friends maybe? Like if she's with a group and they greet everyone, she doesn't want to seem rude or like she's rejecting him in front of people.
- Old habits die hard. If they used to be on good terms at some point, the friendliness could just be out of habit now instead of real interest.
- Low self esteem thing? Like she feels she has to be nice to any guy who talks to her so they won't think badly of her.
- Attention thing. Likes knowing he still thinks about her even if she won't actually give him a chance.
Tough to say for sure without knowing the full situation. But generally it doesn't seem that sincere if she's not into him but still greets him, you know? Mixed signals and all that.
What do you mean by "not sincere with?"
They attend the same class so would be rude not to greet him. In society you have to greet everyone.
