If a girl makes an effort to try to talk to you when she sees you but sounds slightly shy/nervous at times and not just laid back is this a turn-off?

Not as long as you otherwise can carry an interesting conversation. I only expect you to put in 50% of that effort most of the time. If you struggle a bit ill help you out, if you feel nervous ill try to put you at ease. But if its me doing all the effort to keep a conversation going after we only just met its probably the last time we will ever talk.
